Note that I'm not saying you said that, or anything to that effect, but that vibe has been put out by a number of people in this thread.
And what about the vibe that all adblockers are huge piece of shit in this thread? We think they are because they, because they are denying money to a fantastic organisation because they don't want a tiny banner here or there? or cant watch 5 seconds of adverts every now and then in exchange for otherwise COMPLETELY FREE CONTENT. Its not elitism, we're not bigging ourselves up, we're calling you out for what you are.
How can anyone disagree with this logic... Calling people pieces of shit because they don't want to view commercial advertisements? Have you ever heard of freedom of choice? Using your logic, I'd say that you're worse because you criticize people for exercising their freedom on the internet by not viewing ads and you are actively participating in open discrimination with hateful intent.
I can't go into your "comment" any further without getting disrespectful.

haha thanks, never knew how to filter TL out of it

I use ad-block everytime. Websites coercing people to change browsing habits for the casual gamer is unrealistic and pompous. Expecting the adolescent to understand priorities for something non-prioritized is silly. TL gets what it's users put in.

I will from now on filter my adblock so that TL is not blocked.
|
I used to until i saw the elephant :D. Unless TL starts pop up or ads with sounds it will never be blocked again

So a loud message to TL: do not ever ask anyone to not utilize a feature on their computer that is desirable for both its convenience and the added safety it provides to the user for your benefit--it makes you look less than legitimate.
And I'll state one of my pet peeves directly: don't fucking play the "support eSports" card.
Edit: And it's also bad from a website usability standpoint, which in turn will decrease traffic. If this stays on as it is, I won't use TL to view streams. This. I would consider un-adblock Teamliquid if TL is willing to reveal its financial record. Otherwise, no. Where do these people come from?

I don't adblock specifically I just don't allow javascript which as a bonus blocks almost all ads. New TL layout doesn't even fit my laptop screen, nevermind all the small glitches when not using Windows, so for now I'm too angry to spend time on creating exceptions.

What small glitches? I spend more time on TL on Chromium/Ubuntu 10.04 than I do on my Windows 7 machine and haven't noticed any glitches.

Since when did someone elect you a spokesman? Also I and a lot of other people (as many have written in this thread) would gladly pay for a non-ad subscription to tl. And that's discounting the numerous of other ways you can contribute to TL without ever coming close to the ads. Isn't someone dedicating hours and hours to update liqipedia more worth than him doing nothing other than disabling adblock?

I don't ad-block anyone. Basically all legit websites don't have intrusive ads and they have to pay the bills somehow. Don't see any reason to rob them of income.

Yeah, brb, I'll respond in more detail but I need to take a quick helicopter ride to my olympic sized swimming pool of money and do some laps first. Can't let all of this ad revenue go to waste!

I can't get my heard around how much people cry about a fucking 100*200 banner and 5 sec commercials .. you people are pathetic :/

I don't adblock anything. If something is worth me seeing, then its worth watching a 20 second advertisement or having ads on the page to support it.

Different spacing on the fonts creates more line breaks, especially in the left pane. Also pretty much any form was too wide and broke the layout (eg. login form and replay filters). Do you have Microsoft fonts installed?

You guys are speaking indignantly even though your 'house invitation' model is severely flawed.
(1) I have a house too. It's called my computer. Your HTML is a guest in my house. If I ask you to wipe your feed at the door... well, you don't have a choice, I'll do it for you.
(2) If you invite someone over to your house and they tell you that the art you display is offensive, or the food you serve will make them sick... your response should not be 'GTFO ungrateful moochers' unless you're a bad host. You accommodate reasonable requests, or you don't invite people over.

^ This exactly.
While I agree that there's no real reason to block ads on Team Liquid since they're unobtrusive, it's still up to the individual to choose. It's their PC, it's their internet, it's their browsing experience.
While it's obvious that the people who are saying "yes, I'll block ads because I'm a badass ePirate Anon, f*ck TL!" are obviously trolling, the people donning their pearl-white-knight of the Interwebz riding the Moral Stallion on a pedestal aren't exactly doing everybody a favor, either. See how both can be perceived when dumb comments like "people who block ads on Team Liquid should GTFO" are thrown around?
This thread really should be closed, for exactly this reason:

I don't foresee an intelligent, valid, interesting discussion from the topic, as the 40+ pages prior has proven.
