Without doubt 1944 June 10-15 Battle of Carentan Second World War.
Not as a civilian, as a soldier of Easy Company of the US Army 101st Airborne division. OFc this would include the rest of the WW till Berlin. I'm not a german hater or something and i absolutely respect german soldiers who took part in Second World War but that Easy Company is one of the best in the history of Army. Would like to feel how it is to have around 20 people covering my back as some brothers, going trough all the pain together and fighting for freedom!

If I could time travel I would go back to before the fall of rome, and tell them that they're about to be rofl stomped and give them guns, then humanity would be like 700 years in the future when I returned and I would be playing retro games like Starcraft 15 and living on mars.....

I would go back to early 15th century (1440 would be good, so that I'm in time for 1442 july 3rd!). Then I would jump on a boat, go to Mauritius island.
I would then use my knowledge of solar eclipses to scare the shit out of people by predicting one (this one looks nice, July 3rd 1442, 7 minutes long, and goes over the Indian Ocean http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/5MCSEmap/-1499--1400/-1442-07-03.gif ), and become a respected and feared leader (exactly like in Tintin et le temple du soleil).
And THEN, I would take a bunch of dodo birds, and name them holy animals. Hopefully, this would last long enough to make them survive until today*. Awesome dodo birds would still be alive! YES!
* when I found out dodo birds were extinct, I was about 6 years old. I was sad for several weeks, and kept asking my parents how I could ever bring them back. Damn, thinking about it still makes me sad :'(

CONTEST CLOSED
Winners will be selected in a day or two. Waiting on Steam to update since Valve was on holiday yesterday.
|
Any updates on this? Still waiting for steam?
|
|
If I could go anywhere in time, I'd go back a few days so I could enter this stupid contest in time.
|
Looking forward to this giveaway's results as well. Good thing waiting isn't that much of an issue when the game's about time travel .
|
Winners have been selected (albeit in a slightly different way than I had planned/hoped). Keys will be sent out shortly.
|
i put so much effort into my answer ... Really wanted to try this out, if one of the guys having gotten a key (and if that thing with the second key works out) could find it in himself to give me his friend-key i would really appreciate it.
|
Could you post the winning entries in the OP? I am to lazy to search them.
|
|
can you give a list at least of the answers you liked? :-/
|
I'm a sad panda ... I guess I'll eventually buy it anyways..
|
Bugger, new I was screwed as soon as I read that you switched to pure probability for all the copies.
Congrats to the lucky winners though!
Now to rake the couch for nickles and dimes to get my Achron on.

Unbelievable. Really unprofessional. I am definitely not buying this game now.

Its not the game's fault; Serejai is the one who presented the contest and the prize. If you lose a raffle to get a <Car Brand #2>, you don't swear off driving a <Car Brand #2> ever again.

Sad to see the selection switched to pure random; I have to admit I'm a bit bummed out over that after putting at least some effort and personal passion into my entry. Then again it's perfectly reasonable considering the flood of entries and the overall quality of many (if not all) contributions; sound decision, and I'd probably have done the same after ~340 responses.
So - thanks once again for organizing such a cool contest, Serejai, and congrats to the winners.
If one of the winners (or anyone else with an Achron key to spare) reads this: I'd love to give this game a try, I really would. Except for my gratitude, which I'd offer in vast amounts, I believe I have a gift copy of Half Life 2 on my Steam account as well which I'd happily trade (in case anyone's interested).

Losing a raffle is definitely not what happened here. He switched it from being a competition to complete random because he couldn't live up to the task of judging it as he presented. I am not upset because I didn't win, and I wouldn't have been upset if I wasn't picked. He removed the competition after many people put a lot of effort into their responses.
Also, the only way I can combat unfair, unprofessional events like this is have it reflect in their sales. Not buying their game is the best I can do. He is a representative of this company and this game. If a company produces products using child labor, do you dislike those products? No, I still like the products. They may be good. But I don't buy those products because it encourages such behavior to continue.
