Congratulations on reaching this thread. In the rare event that you are in grandmasters league, have a scorching hot girlfriend, and somehow avoided the terrible stench of being a gamer, please refrain from telling us about it. The 10 pages of people informing us that they do, in fact, have sex should provide enough of a counterexample to any non-believers.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation. |

Who is she? Edit: and why should we care about her? she is a noone just a pretty face bound to some model agency
Pretty ironic, she represents the stereotype of a model. Pretty, dumb, shallow. (Not saying it is true)

About the smell: What do people expect? It's summer - very hot (they even mention 30°C in the shadow during the show), and the gamescom was way overcrowded (doors were shut on saturday, because of too many people wanting in). And then you have people walking around such an event for 8+ hours. Maybe even after an hour long drive to the venue? How can anyone not smell after that? Even that girl had sweat glistering skin & greasy hair. I doubt she smelled nice & non-sweaty.
When I'm finished with my normal workouts I'm sweating & probably would start smelling like a pig as well. But I have a shower available (people dont have such a novelty at gamescom).

Who is she? Shes a university student, who took a job as a hostesse at gamescom. Shes presenting some game together with other girls and maybe got 500 euros or smth like that from RTL to participate in their report. So shes no expert shes just the opposite kind of person to those hardcore gamers.
Pretty much. What did you expect honestly? Many of the models you see at those conventions are students and in many cases aren't gamers.

Then I didn't get offended and went on with my life, felt pretty good. Its not about what the girl thinks, it is the way the whole report is set up. They try extremely hard to present gamers as bad as possible. Repeatedly claiming gamers smell, cant get girls, are all around weird etc. The girl is just a useful idiot to get across their message, just like their best exampes of gamers they could find a the event. A similar report about any other social group would have been a scandal.

Let me just direct you all to TeamLiquid's own 2007 Blizzcon Writeup.
5 thousand people were there, but they weren't normal people. These land monsters counted as two, three, sometimes four people all at once. Yes, SC2 was here, but WoW was the big attraction for Blizzcon. More people were there for that than anything else. It was the most grotesque demographic I have ever seen.
Bonus: I was awaken by Hot_Bid jumping on my bed screaming "BLIZZCON BLIZZCON BLIZZCON".

Well, I don't find it hilarious at all, because if RTL in Germany has viewers anything close to what it has in the Netherlands, we're talking about half the country watching this shit. I wonder how this is not getting old, I mean presenting gamers like this. I guess they just realized that the millions of young computer affine people don't give a fuck about TV anyway, so let's just continue bashing them.
Luckily we can make our own documentaries about how awesome gaming really is. Let those retards think what they want.
Haha Jibba that was 2007, in the US, and it was Blizzcon. Kind of an extreme example if you ask me.

Are people honestly offended by this stuff? Who gives two shits about what others think or say, especially when this garbage spews out of their mouth.

Awesome. Now I have an excuse to talk my girlfriend into letting me videotape us; that bitch is all about disproving stereotypes.
Many thanks for this find

I'm pretty sure that the average IQ of RTL 2 viewers is about as low as the bar set by this coverage. people don't worry it's not a good channel. let them talk.
also, a lot of gamers actually smell :D. It's a fact. You smell and you are indoor. But u smell after a game of streetball...so what

Was expecting nothing different, in fact my girlfriend worked some hostesse jobs on conventions too. I just wanted to explain to Timestreamer, because he asked what position in tv she holds ^^

That's satire though, or so I hope. RTL works hard to appear serious & maintain that appearance for people who don't know any better than to believe them. They are like FOX News, just not with the same focus on political opinion making. One guy in this thread described it as social pornography, and although I've never heard of that term before it does seem to describe some aspects of it well. Sorry if I took your post for something other than it is.

Oh, so that's why I've been taking summer courses, working, doing off-to-the-side work for people, playing video games, bathe and use deodorant everyday, and am in a relationship. D:
I didn't realize how correct you were, Ms. da Silva . lololol
|
Worst thing about this is that RTL broadcasted a short bit about Furries a day earlier which was absolutely positive and didn't mention their retarded crazy sex antics at all. Great way to piss off a majority of the population while crawling up the ass of a sick, sad minority that's mentally insane.
|
|
They take the ugliest and weirdest looking persons for interviews. Standard TV... Really sad, but I don't really care anymore. Can't even remember the last time I watched TV on my own.
|
|
Hey, why are you guys hating on rtl2? It's not nice to bully mentally retarted people!
