My coworker and I are in a heated debate. I say it's way too cold and he said that he would wear shorts if it were 40 outside. What about you TL? I'm sure it's a matter of personal preference, and someone who grew up in a northern country will have a different opinion on what "cold" is than someone who was born closer to the equator. Personally, my rule of thumb is that above 70°, shorts and short-sleeves. Between 60-70°, either long-sleeves/jacket OR pants. Below 60°, I generally wear both a jacket and pants. I imagine that with a thick coat, I could be mildly comfortable at 55° in shorts, but I see no reason to risk it -- I'd prefer to err on the side of too much clothing over not enough, since you can always remove layers. Are you from a warm area or something? In NY a lot of people tend to sport T shirts and shorts once it hits 50 degrees F. Yep! Which is why I included the first paragraph about personal preference and location. With TL's geographically diverse community you're going to get a wide range of opinions on the matter. Edit: To me the more interesting question would be how long it roughly takes to acclimate to a new area's colder weather. So if I was raised in an area with warm weather and move to Greenland, about how long would it take for me to be as "cold tolerant" as the locals who grew up there? Probably varies by individual at least to some extent, but...

I would not mind discourse in rhyme; It would be really cool - But could one make a sentence and Not stutter like a fool? Most conversations, as you know Are purely improvised, To think of rhymes in seconds would Be harder to devise, And so the spontaneity Of thought we must forsake - If one day this experiment We choose to undertake.

I want to buy the Pink Floyd alternative recordings album: From Abbey Road to Britannia Row. Problem is - i can't find it. Five pages of google and it's all torrents and direct downloads. I want to buy the CD or lossless aiff/waw/flac versions of the tracks.

So basically, the answer is "Yes, but very slowly."

Edited to add stupid answer: Animals can learn relatively complex tasks that rely on procedural or muscle memory, but anything involving complex analysis or abstract concepts will be lost on most animals. Something like a chimp or dolphin would have better luck with such games, but they would likely still have trouble with a game like checkers that has a constantly changing "game state."
