It's actually pretty small of a chance.
Think of the entire universe as a black square, and time is represented by time looking at the black square. In terms of the life of the universe, the duration of life on earth has been rediculously small. Now imagine if we scaled the lifetime of the universe to 24 hours of viewtime on the square. We would see many flashes flashing like crazy. For aliens to be able to visit our planet from outside our solar system there would have to be faster than light speed ships. Personally I think such a thing to likely be impossible. Traveling across the universe without such a thing is pretty unreasonable.

You need to keep in mind - from our current point of view in science. There might be things which are faster than light - we just havent been able to measure / observe them.
We can do and know stuff today which would seem equally impossible like aliens to someone living 1000years ago

It could very well be another species from another planet ... especially the footage from the Jerusalem (where our current technology just does not allow us to accelerate at that rate)

Well it's not like we have the technology or reasonable means to do anything else on Mars other than examining rocks.
On the other hand, anyone that has the technological level to visit our cozy planet from a galaxy far, far away would have absolutely no need to collect rocks or mutilate cows.
The problem seems to be that the sightings appear in several diferent forms: if an alien species came Earth to study our planet why do them bring spaceships with so many apparent technology ( some are spirals, some are single white dots, three dots, several dots. objects with a huge trail, etc.)? When we want to put a shuttle in orbit we use ONE technology since that one is the best we got. So why would them use so many technologies Why wouldn't they use the more effective technology that they know? You could argue that there are more than one species visiting us but that is very very improbable.
I believe that we aren't alone in the Universe. This is undeniable. But are they really visiting us? I have serious doubts... We need evidence. Not faith and unexplained weather effects.

However how come no one comments on this video? And the fact that you can actually find alot of those type of videos directly on nasa's website so they are definitely not altered. And how come no one gives a crap that reputable people and MULTIPLE astronauts have given their statements as to what they've seen when they went out into space. Sure some or maybe even most can be meteors but you cant explain every single one...like the ones that change direction. How many other scientists and "insiders" probably haven't come forward because of that, they don't want to be ridiculed and lose all of their credential. I'm sure a lot, maybe even MOST, of the accounts that people make (and im talking about reputable people with degrees in their area or jobs/careers in related fields) are fake, but there are some strong cases being made in which some people really have nothing to gain by admitting such things. I think these things need to be more closely examined. I can certainly admit the possibility that maybe all of this is bullshit and that maybe every single person to come forward (again, reputable people, not the nut jobs on channel 4) is lying, but then you have to concede that there is also a POSSIBILITY that not everyone is lying and maybe some of the official nasa footage might be real and some of the accounts of the astronauts are real and maybe the govt has been encouraging its employees to stay hush and perhaps with a good reason behind it. I think Carl Sagan said it best in this thread. Extraordinary claims need extraordinary evidence. None of those people you mention have managed to provide any.

As for the conspiracy: "The government is hiding something! They must be hiding exactly what I think they're hiding. Aliens!" Faulty logic. Also, how is aliens more likely than test aircraft or whatever else they've said? Of course they don't want to talk about their new planes/balloons/fart powered rockets. The cultivation of alien conspiracy theories actually helps divert attention AWAY from what the government is ACTUALLY doing, because people go off chasing a ghost instead of asking more reasonable questions. Like, "how about they make a test aircraft that doesnt crash." And, "My tax money is going WHERE?"
As for eyewitnesses: People believe strange things: faith healings, bigfoot, leprechauns . These people who have seen leprechauns are the same type of people who have seen aliens. Not only that, much more intelligent people make gigantic errors. A study found that a majority (>70% if i recall correctly) of people actually REMEMBERED shaking hands with bugs bunny in disneyland as a child when shown a photograph of it happening. A) The picture was a fake photoshop job. B) This is actually impossible, since bugs is not a disney character. And yet, people fell for it. Ordinary people. I wouldn't trust average joe saying there are aliens. Just saying.

As for most of the pictures: have you seen what dirt and flakes of random junk look like on camera lenses? Exactly that.
As for the videos: I've seen stranger behavior out of dust and oil droplets. Keep in mind that all these videos are essentially two dimensional - something that LOOKS like its reversing direction or stopping could actually just be on a elliptical path.
