One time at night a friend and me were returning from a booze binge to our dorm. I was sober, he had a couple drinks, and he pointed to the sky and said: "You see that shit?"

The sky was occasionally flashing as if from lightning and there was something up there that looked like a city in the clouds, with gigantic buildings. The lightning flashes revealed the shape of the architecture. I'm not making this up, he saw it and I saw it. Now I dont know whether that was just a reflection of our city on the ground in the sky or some interdimenensional sky city hidden from our view, but something was definitely up there and we both saw it.

Sounds like something from the book His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman. He wrote about the idea that there is some kind of portal to another dimension. ...which is possible. Physics speculate that there are multiple universes...maybe the membrane is thin at certain times for us to see into another...

My problem with 2012 isn't that I don't think it will happen I just want everyone saying it will happen to sign somewhere so I can put up absolute proof on Jan 1 2013 (or december 22 2012 since the 21st is when everythings supposed to happen) that they were all wrong and make them admit it (and if you are going to disagree with me about whether anything will happen just keep in mind that I will repost whatever you say on jan 1 '13)

Exactly. I'll be glad to post here at 1st January and I hope I'll get to Masters league by then. :D

Joke aside I try to not think much about all of this and I am trying to maintain neutral opinion about this kind of stuff because from where I am in my confy chair using my spare time to watch SC2 streams I am totally unable to make any definite conclusion about big subjects as "Do aliens exist? / Is 2012 for real? / Real UFOs or hoaxes? / etc etc etc"... but I have to say those videos of spiral lights over Norway look so unreal amazing no matter if it is hoax, natural phenomenon, failed missile or aliens.

I also watched entire "2001 National Press Club Event" of boredom and as much as I don't want to comment it I just have to say big props to them for not looking as bunch of crazy uneducated delusional conspiracy theorist... they at least had some class in their statements; if anything, was interesting watch.

Also I hoped that clip about "Aflockalypse" will give at least some kind of explanation but instead they just did plain and simple coverage of events and I tried to Google it and all I found was Wikipedia page about those happenings without any real explanation - so meeeeh.

I don't think you can really argue whether they exist or not. Life-forms elsewhere in the universe exist, it's statistically improbable for there not to be given the size of the universe.

Only thing you can argue is whether or not they could be intelligent, capable of communication, "close" to us, etc. But yes, either way, proving/disproving means nothing. Aliens don't matter until they contact us, or we contact them. ^^

While I pretty much agree with the principle, whether probability really favors the existence of life, especially intelligent life (relevant to humans) or not isn't so clear.

The conditions necessary for the development of even the most primitive life forms are extremely strict. On the other hand, all it takes is a random meteor of sufficient size smashing into the planet to completely annihilate life on it. The universe might be huge, but the near-perfect planets that can support life are still a rarity, and even on those planets it's still a huge gamble.

With highly intelligent life and civilizations, you also have not only natural, but social constraints as well. Society on any world still need to overcome all the difficulties we have today on Earth (cultural conflicts, planetary resource management, etc).

Ultimately, there's also the often overlooked constraint - time. The relevant question here is whether alien life forms actually coexist with us within our time frame. Taking relativity into account, this also limits the space that is actually relevant to us to a really small part of the entire universe. How small exactly depends on the context and what point in Earth's history you use as a point of reference (various stages in evolution of our species, first civilizations, first radio signal emission, etc) - can be anywhere from 2 million to only several hundred lightyears. Which is really small either way.

Throughout history there has been so many sighting and accounts, but people here dismiss them all based on thier limited knowledge. Nobody ever tries to "debunk" the footage of DR EDGAR MITCHELL and countless other sources who have no vested interest in lying about aliens. So i'm to take the word of some nerd on TL over countless military, astronauts, politicians, and other people who's opinion is worth alot.

Someone tell my why Kelly Johnson who created the Skunk WOrks project had a UFO experience and officially reported it.

Or that the former head of skunk works had a deathbed confession about them?

HeavenS do you realize there's a HUGE difference between "many astronauts from NASA confirm they've seen aliens" and "I saw this shitty video that SAID there were astronauts who seen aliens"? You probably have some difficulty to understand, but there's a huge difference between the 2.

I took the trouble to google one of the photos that the video claims to be official evidence that nasa confirms to have seen aliens, and found the photo on the official nasa website:
http://eol.jsc.nasa.gov/newsletter/DynamicEarth/Chapter8/Fig6.htm

With the clear caption that your shitty video forgot to mention:
"An overview image shows a scratch/scuff mark on Base Block window 1"

Just a scratch on a window. Not nasa admitting they took pictures of aliens.

That video is just as shitty and made up, mostly, of bad photoshops. Just like the shitty videos in the OP.

I don't like the condescending tone in your post. I understand things just fine actually. Also, your twisting my words. I never said "many astronauts confirm theyve seen aliens." never. Do you know the difference between an "alien" and a "ufo" ? "You probably have some difficulty to understand, but there's a huge difference between the 2." But since your so good with Google look it up.

Also, you pick the most obviously fake one, find an explanation for it, and just bundle up the rest of them with it. Never mind that i said most were probably fake/explainable to begin with. Oh and im not making up that some astronauts claim they've seen ufos and been BRIEFED on such events. Again, google it up.
Im cooler than the other side of the pillow.

There's even more military, astronauts and scientists whose opinion is worth a lot (more) on the other side as well. It's not like it's just "nerds on TL". In fact, astronauts and scientists who back alien sightings are in the minority.

And I'm sure deathbed confessions are a reliable source.

i didnt realise being a astronaut made you an expert in using your eyes.

i cant even be bothered to explain how 5/6 people all claiming to of seen the same thing at the same time can easily be a practical joke, but if you want to believe its aliens go ahead. famous people never lie so im sure your right

if only that jerusalem video wasnt in there t.t its so bad faked i could do that
also that phone call is proven fake too disappointing though ^^ was awsomely done

another interesting alien video :

That Nasa video is more credible imo, pretty cool. The OP vid is pretty cool as well, although some of them look like "batman" like projections. I would love to believe all the alien stuff I see, but I just cant get behind it just like I cant get behind religion.

Im a big skeptic but some of those are freaking weird.

I do think there are life forms besides this planet out there simply given the sheer number of opportunities...but I doubt there is a galaxy out there that resembles star wars or such...

I am indeed not all-knowing and if we're talking about the possibility of alien contact with Earth, sure the possibility is there (although probability doesn't favor it in the slightest).

However implying that randomly moving light blobs on Youtube videos of questionable credibility have anything to do with that "possibility" is just absurd. If there are aliens on or around this planet, it's not the light blobs and they don't abduct cows. Seriously. -_-

Yeah, that's a lot of mights and maybes, but what about other governments then? That was the point I was trying to make in my previous post.

You're implying that there aren't plenty of people better placed than those you believe to be better placed than me to discuss such things - who say that the light blobs aren't aliens.

If you're questioning their credibility because you believe the government (pardon, goverments) controls them and is trying to cover it up, why do you have a problem with me questioning the credibility of people who speak about aliens when all they've really seen is light blobs (MAYBE)?

If you were trying to protect a really big secret, would you really rely on media manipulation, or would you just do it the old fashioned "don't tell anyone" way?

I don't think that the "let's make sure everyone hears this and hope they think it's insane" is a very safe and solid plan when it comes to covering things up.

Not sure if I can truly believe any of it, but I will say that it is absolutely creepy as hell.
But I honestly don't believe the 2012 theory, nor believe that UFOs are connected to it.

Over a hundred in our galaxy, with an estimated 125billion galaxies in the universe? Ya, planets that can support life are hard to come across.

I'm not arguing if intelligent life could survive in our timespan or anything like that. Thinking earth is the only planet with life out of untold hundreds of billions of suitable ones is silly. Even if "probability" of life is one in a billion (unlikely it's that low) that's still hundreds of planets with life. ^^

I agree with alot of what youre saying Talin. I wanna keep responding to all of the points your bringing up, but i realize that it is futile because ultimately we will never really know for a fact. so fuck it, all we can do is speculate until et lands and waves so it is what it is.
