It was basically a joke from the MLG failure, but apparently 4chan was also involved in the joke after /v/ had to suffer through the MLG stream fail that us TLers also had to suffer through, so they are also probably a major source of this semi-meme. However, the stream was already getting 100k viewers even before MLG, and apparently, the Youtube video of the hatching chicks quickly got 300k views. The influx of TL and /v/ people seemed to have boosted that number by a bit, but unfortunately we may not have been the main, original source of the popularity. I assume that the stream had gone viral through more conventional channels before finding its way onto TL. | ||
