The same cannot be said of Rebecca Black

Yes, pop music often involves repetition of lyrics. I don't look at or hear that stanza and burst out into laughter at the concept that someone would put those lyrics in a song. Look, I don't want to argue over what lyrics are "better" than others in shitty pop songs, but if "Friday" were "nearly indistinguishable" from mainstream pop music, it wouldn't be going viral and spawning 18-and-counting-page threads.

The production is better, but the lyrics and singing isn't. Yes how is that 2nd song better. It isn't. If only Rebecca was pretty.

You mean like the Ke$ha music video thread? Hell, Lady Gaga has a huge thread on TL and she actually is talented. Whether we talk about it has nothing to do with how good or bad it is- just that it's conversation worthy. In this case it's hilariously bad but if you compare it to a lot of other songs and listen to the other Ark Music songs, you'd probably think they were on a radio Disney countdown.

Umm okay, I'll refine my original statement and say that if it were virtually indistinguishable from mainstream pop, it wouldn't be going viral and spawning 18-and-counting-page threads about how hilariously bad it is. Bear in mind that it got noticed only for being bad. Not out of any publicity or anything.

Wow, that was really great. :O I still can't decide if I think this is a real but bad song or if it's just a parody. ![]()

...why the hell does a black guy suddenly appear for 20 seconds? It seems like a black guy must appear in every song these days. He comes, raps a few shitty lines and leaves. This song is about as stereotypical as it becomes.
