Thread is about the various issues surrounding Japan in the aftermath of the recent earthquake. Don't bring the shit side of the internet to the thread, and post with the realization that this thread is very important, and very real, to your fellow members. Do not post speculative and unconfirmed news you saw on TV or anywhere else. Generally the more dramatic it sounds the less likely it's true.

City after city is reduced to sludge. The scope of the damage is overwhelming. NHK just cuts from prefecture to prefecture showing the wreckage.

I live in Christchurch, New Zealand, where we had a 7.1 quake and a 10x more devastating 6.3 quake just a few wooks ago, and it is apparent to me that magnitude means nothing, rather it's location, time and depth. Christchurch's 7.1 was deep, in the countryside, and at night, so the damage was low and the fatalities none, whereas the 6.3 killed over 200 and demolished parts of the city, because it was shallow and right in the middle of town at midday. Japan's quake feels like de-ja-vu, and I know exactly how it's residents feel, confused, panicking, adrenal. The worst part of the earthquake is not having normality. When you cant get water, power or sufficient food and your house is damaged, you lose your feeling of where is home. You don't know where you can go. When you have no home or place of safety, you feel incredibly expended and depressed. My first thought was 'are the gamers in korea hurt?'
