Climbing up there for work is another thing but going 800 feet with no safety equipment to do pull-ups on crane rails is just absurd. My stomach didnt turn when I was watching the tower video but those dudes are insane.

I think the moving camera adds a bit to the scare factor, but it indeed takes some serious watermelons to do that job. Imagine when there's an unexpected storm coming :D You're like "Oops

My heart was pumping hard and I was like "are you f'n kidding me?" repeatedly when the dude started the free climbing. At the middle of the video I realised how my hands had sweated during the thrilling moments. I really rarely sweat when I'm sitting. Wow

I mean, I've done some moderately high climbing (maybe 100 feet) while wearing a harness before, and I didn't have to hook and unhook my gear every few feet. There was just a catching mechanism next to me so if I fell, a gear would lock and I would stop moving. I don't think the technology is that sophisticated, but I can understand why it may not be practical for these guys to use it.

Seriously? Can't they think of a system that involves a safety line to the top? Shouldn't be too hard to run a cable with a few hooks to the top and back down again...

They don't even have parachutes? I mean it probably wouldn't be the best spot to use one, and more to carry, but still a greater chance of survival than without anything...
