When you encounter one of these differences, you can, if you really want to, take it as an occasion to congratulate yourself on your own superb choice in pet nomenclature and to denigrate the words others have so lovingly chosen for theirs. You can do that. Lot of folks do. I hope, though, that you get tired of doing that eventually and just accept the fact that people have different words for cats. You might even, hey, come to appreciate a little variety after a while. | ||

The little things you put in your ear that go around your ear are earphones. The even littler things you put in your ear that are mostly concealed are earbuds. | ||
