I suppose in time for Valentine's Day? I apologize in advance for my dodgy art skills, if someone wants to make a better banner...
R1CH, the technological genius behind TeamLiquid. He works as hard, if not harder than so many people all over TL, and he has done so much to build TL up to what it is today. It would not be nearly the same without him.
Especially with the advent of TSL, and constant technical issues, him, along with TeamLiquid staff have worked hard to bring us the show that we anticipate; the show that we want to watch. Considering that it would not happen without him, I think we should all take the time to say to him, and to show him, how much we all really appreciate him besides the occasional "Thanks R1CH" in various posts.
He was the one that brought us today's TSL showing, the one that solved these unexpected problems, and he made the stream of TSL2, that we're all enjoying, going on right now possible
He contributes more than most people do to their day jobs and he deserves the appreciation for going through so much trouble, putting in so much effort, constantly fighting Murphy's law, and I say that we show show him how much we all love him, how much we appreciate him, and show how important he is to our community.
1/31/10: TSL2: Started on time, no problems! Okay, not quite. But smoother than yesterday!
Basically: Post your appreciation, and I'll try to compile some more content-filled posts into the OP. If not, a simple thanks should suffice (if you mean it!).

R1CH is awesome! Before I came to starcraft, I played a few Q2 mods, and definitely knew the name R1CH from all the Q2 modding/awesome server/client improvements he made. It blew my mind when I first saw that R1CH was helping out starcraft as well. R1CH is awesome :D

Whoa, I have the same prob! Tried everything and couldn't manage to fix it.
Rich is some kind of wizard. I've been fortunate to have benefit from R1CH's labor outside of TL and starcraft, the kind of of stuff this guy does is always extremely useful, and it seems that a lot of communities have been truly built on some foundation he's laid.
R1CH truly deserves an appreciation thread. He is so technically knowledgable, and so generous to donate his time to the community as he does. Wizard indeed.
Even more impressive when you know that SC scene is not the only thing he does, he has made programs/helped people in the Quake and Diablo scenes as well.
R1CH not only helped me fix my hosting problem with SC, but he added me to MSN and has helped me with computer issues that I couldn't solve myself countless times. How the hell does he help everyone AND do the tech stuff on TL ... crazy guy!

either the correct ports are not open (im assuming you have done this)
OR
you have a double nat conflict. set your modem up as a bridge and use the router in PPoE mode.

LOL. That sounds so true.
R1CH is a technological, benevolent, and omnipotent God that graces us with His presence.
R1CH was looking at my PC with teamviewer when we were testing stuff for TSL and he knew what he was doing despite the fact that I have German Windows.
One time I was on R1CH' comp with team-viewer. I didn't understand anything but I will never forget the awe. One monitor 50 programs in the task-bar but not a single thing slowing him down.

Since I've not been here for a while, I'm only slowly realizing what an amazing place Teamliquid has become. And it wouldn't have happened without you, R1CH. You're Chuck Norris on the Internet.

thats how i imagine rich, not as person but as some kind of devine being who makes comps run 2 times faster and smoother
just joking, thanks a lot for all the hard work you've done for us <3
R1CH is freakin amazing =) Hey R1CH please drop those "I fix your computer" threads more frequently. I'm very interested in fixing comps and I appreciate the challenge most of the time but I'm still novice at it

truth. i am one of the few remaining survivors. most don't live to tell the story.
It's always amazing to see the TSL stream running so well knowing that it's being streamed live to thousands across the world while being run by just a few volunteers also scattered around the world. Respect.
Thank's R1CH! btw, i hear you're almost done with the development of your AIDS vaccination; be sure to post the news on TL first thing when you're done k?
Thanks for creating this topic for one of the most important guys behind the TSL. But you should also make an appreciation thread for the other admins then to be fair!

Yeah, I know, I had thought about that. But that would take up quite a few threads, and I mainly created this out of thankfulness of R1CH's effort on TSL2, while watching it (while he fixed the issues), and then reading some ungrateful kids yelling at TL about the delays.
i am double grateful to rich because i know that lots of people on the internet who do stuff for free (RPG modders in particular) are very defensive and block any criticism with "well it's free" and refuse to fix their bugs
but R1ch's stuff just keeps getting better, kudos to him

R1CH you're so awesome that I don't think that awesome is good enough of a word because you are that awesome, it's still not quite covering but hey, you know how awesome you are ! + Show Spoiler +
I've known r1ch for years. I play dota with him all the time, and all we do is rage at him. Then I see random threads and remember he's semi-famous and just smile.
