Following in the footsteps of the K-Pop and J-Pop threads, here is the C-Pop discussion thread!

Post your favorite Chinese music here; Mando, Canto, anything goes!

Here are a few songs that I like:

From one of my favorite Taiwanese series:

I like this video

And of course, this is obligatory:

Well, I'm Chinese, so I can understand the lyrics to most Mandarin songs. My Cantonese is rudimentary at best, so I listen to Canto just cuz it sounds cool

Can people spoiler lots of videos in one comment please?

I am not ashamed to admit I'm a filthy Edison Chen fan. I also like Jay Chou (but not for his acting lol.) and Nic Tse.

well i'm actually chinese, so...

and no one has mentioned jacky cheung yet, by far the best singer to have come out of asia since like... the 80's. leehom is a distant second and he's not even a native asian (although he is pretty damn good with that berklee education and all).

dont worry, only the kpop thread has legs. The others dont have enough dedicated posters to keep bumping to the top regularly. So its not that big a deal

but to stay on topic

I feel that a huge chunk of Cpop is just ballad-y songs, which just isn't my taste.
Anyways, is there currently an active Cpop scene, like there is an active Kpop scene, like with an updated international news site?

I use AsianEU for most of my Chinese music. It's a pretty large community. Alternatively, you can find songs at Baidu, which also has charts, but it's in Chinese.

Oh gosh I don't even know where to start. But nowadays Taiwanese singers are so much better than HK ones. HK was so much better back in the day. But I'm a huge Jay Chou fan haha.

For older HK stars I say check out Jacky Cheung, Eason, Leslie, Hacken Lee, Alan Tam, Anita, Theresa, Priscilla, etc. Beyond is a kickass band but not pop. And I really have no idea who's hit in HK now.

the lyrics are great, you will miss the song if you don't know them.

it's called At the base of Mount Fuji because that is where people go to commit suicide.

From end of the old movie Tunnel Warfare (1965).

"The East is Red," the quintessential Mao song, from the 1965 version of the musical.

The ending scene of the 1956 movie Shangganling; not a song but I think it has a nice score.

Chinese version of the Communist/Leftist song "L'Internationale," from the end of The East is Red (1965).

their music videos are just so funny

Jay chou's good, but a lot of his stuff is complete crap. S.H.E. CANNOT perform live. i've watched it. they're bad. Guang Liang is probably the only modern mainland artist that i like.

well the old stuff is the stuff that people like and remember, mostly because the artists back then could actually, you know, sing ;(

sorry to be a bitch, but can the thread focus on current gen of music or in the 90's? I know the OP said post your favorite music, but seriously.. why put "C-Pop" in the title
I only came here to see what are the monthly top's or popular music. It was confusing for me to tell whether the artist is Chinese or HK or Taiwanese without clicking the youtube or going over oldies

This got a big fuss over it in Taiwan. The girl model is known for a MMO commerical and her cup size and look. She is 19. I didnt know she can sing but apparently any drama star can have a album if they are popular enough.

So this might be the best place to ask – I’m looking for a song which I saw the video for a while ago. It starts off with a guy working at a shop, he sits down with a girl, and tells her he loves her and she laughs (while drinking something and spilling it or choking on it?). The video goes on with him consoling her for a variety of different things (break up, lost her job?). Along the way, I *think* he sings about “his first [X]” where [X] is hug, kiss, etc. – (for example, the girl gets drunk after being fired and she passes out on him, and he says it’s his first hug?) and at the end she asks him to repeat what he said before, and he does so, and the girl accepts this time. Anyone know what I’m talking about? I believe they are either singing in Chinese (maybe Taiwanese?).

Anyone else like me? In my opinion, I'm "fluent" in Chinese, for whatever it's worth, but I can only understand like half the stuff they say when they're singing. Speaking's just fine, though.

I guess I haven't been listening to cpop long enough...

I get that feeling when I'm listening to Jay Chou, since his lyrics are hard to understand. I don't really have a problem with other singers though, they tend to sing pretty clearly.

I just don't understand why anyone would still listen to 'C-POP' after listening to other genres.
All they ever do is either:
a) sing something about being dicked in a relationship.
b) sing something about motherland.
c) copy some tune from j-pop or k-pop and regurgitate.
d) rap about random shits.
f) take some ancient Chinese poetry and try so hard to fit it with lyrics. (I'm looking at you, Jay)

Anything out of Taiwan = garbage.
HK used to be decent at least, now they are going down the same path. I mean seriously why the hell was Twins popular?

What do they sing about in K-Pop and J-Pop???? (question of interest here)
i swear most artists sing about the same stuff. it just sounds good sometimes
most C-Pop sucks, i have compiled about 50ish decent songs.
saying Taiwan = garbage is a little harsh though.
Korea = garbage too if you look at their dances that go with the music...

JJ Lin - Jiang Nan

JJ Lin - Sarang Heyo

SHE - Zhong Guo Hua (I like listening to it more than I like watching the MV lol)

Liang Jing Ru - Shou Shou De

Wang Lee Hom - Kiss Goodbye

Jolin Tsai - Zheng Yi Zhi Yan Bi Yi Zhi Yan

Jolin Tsai - Xu Yuan Chi De Xi La Shao Nu

They're all old songs. I haven't listened to C-pop in awhile, it's harder to find imo.

Kpop isn't much better. It's all pretty much American pop music lagged by 3-years.

Not to mention when one Kpop gets big, either all the other companies go make their own version of that pop group (i.e. now with the explosion of girl groups =.=) or the opposite gender of that group is made.

cindy's a couple of years ahead of me, but she used to go to college here in austin (knew her personally, etc etc). she's actually a great singer -- majored in music performance and i think communications here. solid piano/violin player, great vocalist (for sure better than most of the asian pop stars you see out there today).

i agree though, this is a pretty bad song -- but cindy composed/produced it almost entirely herself (with a little bit of collab on that + songwriting with jay), and if you look at most artists' first albums/singles, they're usually awful (and, to no one's surprise, her recently-released debut album is also less than stellar). it's good for about a minute, then the melodies stop working and the song breaks down, plus you get jay chou's weak vocal performance again (note to cindy: classical harmonic progressions don't work in hip-hop/R&B ).

jay chou once again gets shown up on a track by someone who is a million times the vocalist he is -- seriously, the guy is just a terrible singer. a shame because he's actually a fairly decent producer.

to be honest i think jay had to show up on the track because he's the one who signed cindy to his record label. i guess for marketing/credit purposes or whatever, he has to be on her first "big" track that gets significant airplay. whatever.

enough rambling--

haha yeah. but for a guy who makes a living being a singer-songwriter-producer, you'd expect him to be able to perform a little better. kinda like ryan tedder or justin timberlake (or even john mayer).

Mumbling lyrics does not constitute a great singer. He does however have some good songs out there. But his vocals are simply lacking.

even though im chinese i never listen to cpop. or kpop or jpop for that matter.
LOL seriously they all sound the same, just that jpop and kpop might be a little better because cpop just started recently, but seriously its all pretty much the same, even the music videos, always some emo ass guy who spends like half his income on his hair and some girl he's trying to get but too much of a faggot to make a move etc.

yea i thought it was pretty much established that edison chan did that stunt to try and get famous cuz a lot of western people got famous from releasing sex tapes. he tried really hard to make it in hollywood and wanted to leave the whole hong kong celebrity circle but fucked up lol. i think a friend told me one of the girl's dad is triad and ordered a hit on him but he got away or someshit. hahaha pop music is so funny.

Damn, it took you guys way to long to post a video of LMF.

And about pop music in general. I mean I don't really dislike it. It's popular for a reason. All the tunes are catchy. Can't really blame people for liking it. Problem is that the songs get stuck in my head if I listen too much. And that gets annoying alot of times, haha.

Kinda sad that LMF had to break up though. The music of that calibre would've definitely earn them enough money to stay together if they were a US band.

even though im chinese i never listen to cpop. or kpop or jpop for that matter.

Unsurprised - I always knew Edison was a dodgy little ho. I love his terrible (but sometimes weirdly catchy) music and his 'street' image. His acting was terrible back in the day, but it's actually steadily improved. (Or at least it did until his big scandal and the hilarious apology video that followed.) I'm glad he's come back recently. I missed all his silly antics. I do admit to missing all that weird tension between him and Shawn Yue though. Sometimes they seemed to be friends and others you'd read about them hating each other.

I don't listen to much Cpop myself, but I do like some of the instrumentals that backed Nicholas Tse's older work. The ballads just all sound the same to me which is why I stick to other related things (but not HK or Chinese.) like Fahrenheit.

See even if I don't hate C-Pop, I'm not a fan either. At least I'm not the fucking retard going into another country's music thread saying shit. It's worse that I see you here, cuz I'm pretty damn sure you listened to at least ONE of these songs and liked it (and don't by a lying fuck and say you haven't, because anyways, there are other remakes as well). The worst thing is, you left a wussy ass one liner thinking that people were going to brush it off. You have over a thousand posts here, you know not to be a fucking retard like that. And no, this isn't talking shit about C-Pop, it's just you.

You, sir, need to calm down. My post was very clearly a joke on the name change of the thread (if this wasn't obvious I'm sorry I offended you). At one point, I tried to get into C-Pop just because I am Chinese, but I never liked it. There is one Chinese artist that I ever listen to, and I never bothered to listen to any other Asian music since like 2008.

I realize that your post is directed to me and not towards Chinese music; but even though I left a negative comment in the Korean music thread, this has nothing to do with me holding up for only my own country's music (as you seem to imply). You could call C-Pop shit, and I would wholeheartedly agree. I never liked Asian music. I already knew that many Chinese songs were basically copied from Korean counterparts, and this only made me hate Chinese music as a whole even more.

I'll admit I haven't listened to much Korean music at all, so my statement that Korean music is "shit" has no merit, so I'm sorry for that.

What kind of retards generalize a whole country/language's music? And off the what, 5, 10 songs they've listened to?

Anyways, here's 3 I listened to today that I think most people will like.

She can't sing. The song's better when you take out her part and just let him sing the entire thing. Same with all his other duets.

Jin Sha is worse than Charlene. If you've ever seen a live of her singing, it's simply pathetic. Can't hold a damn note to save her life, and is probably like 50x worse than shitty KPop idol singers. Here are a couple examples:

What else have you done besides bash singers in this thread? She's an "idol" singer, what were you expecting? It doesn't take a good live singer to record a good song. Let him enjoy his studio version of the song.

My question is DO THEY have a hip-hop scene? And no, Jin doesn't count (or does he... after all he's currently signed with UM HK or Universal Music Hong Kong)

And Roffles, I'm the biggest basher in this thread. I make such bashful posts that have to be deleted (Oh Synapse, where are my Vivian pics hmm? ) because they too much. And NO ONE bashes SM as much as I do

Watch me invade this thread with Tibetans (or just A tibetan) because Alan is just too good ~~
(like #1 Oricon Chart good yeah... eat it Charlene)

I bash em cause they suck. There's no denying Jin Sha is piss poor and ruins such great lives from JJ. I just point out that most female CPop vocalists are bad.

Plus, most idol singers can hold a note. Even shitty KPop idol group singers can hold a note longer than she can. Plus, she doesn't even dance on stage, and can't sing to save her life. I just think its pathetic she got to duet with a vastly superior vocalist. Couldn't they have gotten someone with some talent?

This isn't the best Chinese singer thread. I would understand if someone claimed she's a good singer, but nobody did. Someone just posted a MV of a song they liked, and you talk about how bad she sings and post a live video just to prove your point. You must be super busy if you have to make a post every time you see something you find bad.

Stop with the ignorant K-Pop C-pop comparisons. Name the top 5-10 chinese female pop singers you know. I guarantee you that you know nothing.

What this tells me is, you know ~20ish singers, and you dare to generalize and conclude that most female cpop singers are bad.

I know more, you want me to continue? There's that fatty Han Hong, GiGi Leung, Karen Mok, Jane Zhang, Joey Yung, Chris Lee, Vivian Hsu, the Twins... I can keep going, you want?

Anyways, what that tells me is that I know more than you think I know. Yes, I can conclude that most female CPop singers are bad in comparison to male singers. Keep feeding me. I can continue. Plus, you said the top artists, not the ones that I think are any good.

Btw, that black guy in the videos above is Hao Ge.

Were those supposed to be part of the top singers, or are you just trying to list 20 singers?...

Now you are going the "compared to male singers" route. So why did you list female Kpop alternatives in your original post instead of male Cpop? Cuz you felt like it right? Whatever..

You have an issue with HK singers? You have an issue against those with talent and can sing? But yeah, I still maintain that most are just as shitty as KPop idol singers. There are few in the business that have real talent, like Jane Zhang, but there are others who you KNOW can't sing like Jolin who are only there because she's pretty.

Don't try to deny it. Also, don't try to deny that the ones I'm listing are pretty damn popular in China. So what if I didn't list the Coco Lees or the Angela Changs or the Cyndi Wangs, Elva Hsiaos, and the Stephy Tangs? I think I made my point clear to be honest.

What?...You were talking about how bad the girl Cpop singers are, so I asked you for the top singers (vocally obviously...not popularity...Wasn't that a given?)
So what have you been listing? Singers who other people think are great singers, or singers who other people like, aka popular? If you were just listing the popular ones, then make a new list of top 5 vocally. (some of the ones you listed are neither which is really what makes this hilarious)

You don't even have an argument. lol
First you say most female cpop singers are bad. Then you compare them to kpop and say even kpop girl groups sing better. Then when I ask you for top 5 singers you give me top 5 popular (irrelevant). And then you went with the "oo only bad compared to male singers"

Yea you won.

I never said I had an argument. You said I couldn't name artists because I didn't know shit about CPop. I listed them. I just wanted to prove to you that you shouldn't be making generalizations about what I know and what I don't know. Thanks.

Plus, I never said I won. I just said I don't wanna argue with you anymore over something as pointless as this. I'm entitled to my opinion am I not?

This wouldn't be a discussion thread if I couldn't give my input. To be honest, the more popular ones are the ones with the least amount of talent.

Do you not know how to read? When did I ever say you couldn't list female singers? A 5 year old kid could go on wiki and copy paste 100. Congrats on being proud of doing something I didn't even expect you to do.

Could you stop sidetracking and answer the question? Were the singers you listed popular or good singers?

2. alan (Avex)
3. Jolin Tsai
4. Faye Wong
5. this is hard...

btw where is Charlene Choi from?

She can't sing. The song's better when you take out her part and just let him sing the entire thing. Same with all his other duets.

:<

i happen to like the female part in this song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWh_6FSgJ0w

Jin Sha is worse than Charlene. If you've ever seen a live of her singing, it's simply pathetic. Can't hold a damn note to save her life, and is probably like 50x worse than shitty KPop idol singers. Here are a couple examples:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWJ7o595Wn4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5KhDiuMXFs#t=5m55s

What else have you done besides bash singers in this thread? She's an "idol" singer, what were you expecting? It doesn't take a good live singer to record a good song. Let him enjoy his studio version of the song.

The list looks like its based on popularity, but then that's irrelevant to the argument. But then the list is terrible if its based on singing ability.

Any you somehow interpreted that as
"I guarantee you that you know no singers at all",
instead of the obvious meaning
"Name the top 5-10 chinese female pop singers you know. I guarantee you that you know nothing (about the chinese music industry)."
Go for the syntax, that's all you have anyways.

Of course I based it off popularity. Why would I base something off something as subjective as singing ability? Any list I make based off singing ability can be shot down by you because your tastes are different from mine, which is why this argument arose in the first place.

I don't need syntax. Plus, I guarantee you I know much more than you give me credit for. Don't talk as if you know me.

What was the purpose of listing popular singers?
Subjective? LOl. If it is so subjective why do you have to force your opinion onto other people? That Jay Chou is bad. That Twins is bad. That Jin Sha is bad? Oh the irony.

There are generally accepted good singers out there, like Jane Zhang as you said. Stop worming your way out and list 5 top female singers vocally. Like I said, you know nothing.

>.> Enough arguing already. Copy-pasted from my post on the closed op;

I'm a lover of the obscurest people ever from the 加油!好男儿 talent show from back in 2006/2007 so most of my favorite artists come from there;

Kimi:

Zhang Chao:

My guiltiest pleasure is BoBo; a duo from 加油!好男儿 who just bought out a new album after two years of mainly doing charity work;

Unfortunately most of the Chinese music magazines are flooded with Korean groups/solo singers. Aside from being able to get merchandise for Taiwanese group Fahrenheit, and acts like TOP Combine and Lollipop it's even difficult for me to get domestic merchandise/CDs from the two Chinese import shops here in Myeongdong. They have to do special orders :S. China needs to pay more attention to their domestic talent :/

Anyways, sincerest apologies for thread derailment. And to Picture, I'll apologize for misinterpretation. I just figured you'd take the route that most people take in an argument like that by taking a personal shot. But it seems like you weren't going down that path.

Pointless to argue over something like that to be honest. I just stated a few opinions. Since when have opinions been frowned upon in discussion threads? I can't give my opinion on artists? If I just say "Man, this guy is good", the only discussion that arises is "Yep, he good". If I give a countering take on someone as big as Jay Chou by saying that he mumbles and doesn't really sing, then it draws conversation to the thread. No harm intended really. I ain't trying to shove anything down anyone's throat. Just pointing out what I think. If everyone does that, then a discussion arises, and this thread might actually kick off. It only gets stupid when hardcore fans come in and kill you for anything you say.

Anyways, I just stopped by to help revive the thread, drop a couple opinions here and there. Didn't come in to bash. It's not a discussion when everyone agrees. I just don't think the more popular mainstream female artists are that great of singers.

That's what I want you to do, to give your opinions. Hence why I thought it was ironic you won't list the good singers because it's "subjective".

That is completely different from what you originally said, and you are entitled to that opinion.

Back on topic, I am surprised she wasn't on your list. (she's good and popular)

A Mei is pretty legit. Definitely one of the best voices in the business. Although I did like her earlier stuff more, like Ting Hai.
I'm personally also a fan of Jade Liu's voice. It's just got that soothing feel to it.

Chinese music is just terrible. There's absolutely no originality, barely any talent, and everything in the entertainment industry is just second rate. All they can do is copy what the US and Japanese is doing.

And yes I'm Chinese.

Just finished watching the TW drama Fated To Love You and for being the #1 rated TW drama, it didn't have that great of a soundtrack. However, this song was very good and set the mood for quite a number of scenes.

Autumn's Concerto is my new favorite drama and it had a VERY suitable OST to go with it.
All the songs matched with the themes of the drama and created a very emotionally memorable watching experience

Nah, there's talent. Just gotta dig for it past the overrated popular stars. Also don't agree that the entertainment industry is second rate. If you head overseas to China, you'll see that these people do quite well. There's money to be made in China. Ton of people, lotta cash. Those guys are well off. While at times they lack creativity and originality (I blame people like Wilber Pan and SHE, both popular but VASTLY lacking in originality), you still get people like Jay Chou who's known for his ridiculously great melodies and lyrics.

While people in other areas of the world may not know too much about CPop, I think it's doing rather quite well. The people over there seem to like it, and there's definitely talent. Just gotta dig dig dig. There's bound to be talent with 1.4 billion people, and other neighboring countries that speak Chinese as well.

China (As in Mainland China, Fuck all you posers) actually had a growing metal and rock scene before commercialization and the Taiwanese garbage flood.

There is a lot of raw talents but the sad thing is their music are either too localized or don't get funding that is needed to be develop into mainstream.

Now days, it's just cheap and cost effective to copy shits from other countries, put some cosmetics on it and get a decent looking chick to sing it. It's REALLY REALLY FUCKING sad but half of the country's youth don't know any better, the other half are too busy worrying about other shits to care.

Sounds like they're too busy making a buck (or a yuan, lol?) importing foreign music at the moment. It's a good plan for short-term profits, probably the easiest way to make money as all you have to do is pay attention to what's popular elsewhere - quick and low-risk. There's a catch though. Eventually the competition over foreign distribution rights will become too fierce, and some companies will have to bow out. At that point, local talent will become more attractive.

Also, the public's discernment is bad, in general, for pop. Just look at the US music scene for an example. It's part of why I rarely listen to pop, though I am oddly a fan of film music, especially orchestral, which I guess is the modern pop version of classical.

Jay Chou originally mumbled in his first few albums, but I think he's gotten a lot better at actual enunciation, especially in his latest albums. And I reaaally like the Taiwanese in his songs like in Hao Jiu Bu Jian, Liu Lang Shi Ren, and more I can't think of off the top of my head. It just sounds really cool to me.

And he's coming to the states whooooooooooooo SF BABY

Anyone have good recommendations for ballad type songs? Some of Wang Leehom's older stuff and Fish Leong's songs are really good. Any other artists similar to that kind of style?

One of my all time fave artists is Xiao Yu. I don't think he's too popular though, it's a pity. Not a lot of his stuff on youtube, but this was what I could find:

Warning: Most likely not music related
Hey guys. I'm looking for the name of a certain model, she should be chinese but I don't know for sure.

If some of you know her by any chance or can read the chinese symbols on the photos, maybe you could help me out. I'm looking for high res of that sets of pictures for drawing purposes (mainly the photo above), but the name of the model would absolutely do.

Thanks for any help and sorry about posting it here but I've nowhere else to go atm.

Update: She's Zhang Xin Yu. Sorry for interrupting the thread flow. Maybe some1 delete this post, thanks.

This is my favorite song of all time (all languages inclusive). Have a listen, it's a simple ballad that is completely different from current asian-pop, and has the best melody line ever!

Beyond - 海闊天空

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iA_qIycirRA

Ka Kui wrote it a few years before his tragic accident. You can see some sort of foreboding in his songwriting (this song is one example).

Alright since I haven't seen this posted, I might as well do it.

It's catchy of course, the music is great, she sounds good regardless of there being quite a bit of autotune, and lots of sexy bass. The dancing could be better, however it's simple for my taste. I know nothing about C-Pop so I'll have to look at previous videos posted, and I ask of you to recommend me some stuff?

(Anyway, what is this interesting hate on Taiwanese-pop?)

Latest Chinese Internet sensation. ^Is the music video version of the short film OLD BOY (老男孩), nothing to do with the Korean movie classic.

I think the melody is ripped from a Japanese song, can't remember the name but sounds very familiar but the lyrics is very touching for people who grew up in China.

*Btw, the cut scene to the Chinese city is actually opposite to my house in China Haha

Love this song!

Can someone please help me with the tabs? I'm thinking about playing it to my romantic interest, who is Taiwanese and will recognise it.

So far I have figured out that it's in standard tuning but half a step down in key. The chords for the verses appear to be F G C and the chorus is C Bm Am G F G C. However, I don't know how to do the twirly 'lead' guitar bits. If anyone can tab them for me I would greatly appreciate it as I don't want to just strum it. Here are the words:

Can someone please recommend for me a good YouTube channel that has the latest (and continues to add to the latest) Taiwanese pop songs that are coming out? Thanks. I really want to be able to get into the Taiwanese music scene... I just don't really know what to look for. Is there like a Taiwanese MTV channel or someone similar?

Okay this one is a bit hard..but..I am looking for a c-pop song, it was pretty famous around summer 2009 I would guess? Problem is, I have almost forget everything. I remember that the music video played outdoor, driving with a cabrio (I believe it was a mercedes). Female did most of the song, but inbetween was a male, I think rapping or something like that. It was pretty fast/rocking (for a chinese song) and positive.

I know it ain't much, but..
If somebody has a list of 2009 top hits (it must have been number one judging from how often it was played) I would be thankful for that too.

Only Chinese pop song I know, but damn:
It is a sign of strength to cry out against fate, rather than to bow one's head and succumb.

For some reason I've been a 仙剑 mood recently. Only ever played one of the games, but I love the music from them:

仙剑问情 (萧人凤)

朱砂泪 (董贞)
http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMjI2OTAxMTY0.html
董贞's version is my favorite, but I can't seem to find it on youtube. If youku loads too slowly, here's a youtube version sung by someone else:

尘封缘 is the same song with different (arguably better) lyrics, but I prefer the singers for 朱砂泪

有你的天堂 (Valen Hsu 许茹芸)

一直很安静 (阿桑)

Help!

When I went to Beijing about a year ago I heard some amazing jazz being played in a snobby shopping mall/area at wangfujing dajie. Im pretty sure it was a trio (instrumental) with piano, bass and drums and there were an interesting piece of percussion being used that sounded almost like a ping-pong ball hah. The heavenly tunes produced by these virtuosos were so mindboggling that I had to ask for the name of the band at the help desk, sadly they could not tell me.
I later wrote it down to remember to email it to the shopping mall, but they did not have any means to contact them in english.
Are there perhaps some super famous jazz mucisians like those in china that people would recommend me to investigate?
These guys would have to be well known.

o.o Doesn't ring a bell at all, but sounds quite interesting, I'd really like to know as well. Maybe someone out here knows... ;s

"Chinese music" is this related only to pop or can it branch out? Didn't read any of the other pages (yet.)

Anyways, if you're into rap and such make sure to check out LMF - (mostly) angry canto rap from Hong Kong, amazing group. There's tons of videos and MVs up on Youtube. I'd post some but I'm in China at the moment and yep.

Sorry for being so lazy but this thread is completely dead :> I actually found the band about a month ago!
They are called "Nicholas Lim Trio" and sound just amazing.

Here is a playlist with them preforming 12 songs:

Edit: So somehow YT wont let me link playlists, but you will easily find it in the related videos to the right of this one.

I wouldn't recommend HD, sadly it has too few views for that and for me it just ends up buffering infinitly, so watch 360p if you're having the same problems.

Been listening to this ever since. I could die to this :33
