I'm a little late but I practically live off these things since I moved to Germany... My favorite one is closed till the 14th and I actually went shopping today o.o

oh my GOD yes. i used to live in germany and every time i go back i have like 15 of these things. they are so fucking amazing. oh and it has to be lamb. dont kid yourself. doner = so fucking good.

oh and good call on those chinese street lamb kebabs. they are fantastic even if you sometimes get sick from them =P. my dad and his old childhood chinese friends get together every once in awhile and grill a whole bunch of these and like triple the chili seasoning and its fan-fucking-tastic.

I just made some brownies a couple of nights ago while I was simmering a massive pot of chili. They look kinda like this:

It's my favorite recipe. Basically, it's peanut-chocolate chip cookie dough for the "white" part of the brownie, and it's a dark chocolate brownie batter for the "black" part of the brownie.

So fucking good.

lol when did we get on desserts?

my favorite is probably Flan. the only issue is that its really hard to make good flan, so most of the time its mediocre compared to some other desserts. but really good flan is just so amazing.

This thread is EPIC! It's late as hell, but I gotta contribute. Prepare for a long post full with things you can get in Sweden. :D (not necessarily swedish food tho, lol). Big pics in spoilers, all pics found at Google.

Smörgåstårta. (Sandwich Cake) Already posted, but oh-so-awesome. Traditional swedish food at celebrations, particularly in summer.

"Swedish" meatballs and mashed potato with ketchup and/or gravy+jam. Classic, cheap, delicious and easy to make.

"Rice a la Malta". Dessert; basically cold rice porridge but with lots of cream and (often) raspberry or strawberry jam.

Christmas Ham (Julskinka). Swedish tradition. Big piece of ham that's first boiled for several hours, then coated with a mix of mustard, eggs and breadcrumbs, after which it's baked in the oven just long enough for the coating to become a nice golden crust.

Steak. Particularly one at an all you can eat buffé at "The Knife" in Miami. I've only been to the US once, on vacation, and we actually came back to this place a second time because the meat was the best we've ever had. <3 It just melted in your mouth (swedish expression, dunno if it translates right in english, it means it was f-ing great). You pick your meat right of the grill, making it even more awesome.

Sushi. Personal favourite is the avocado-sushi.

Home-made tacos. It's not just the flavor that's great about this dish - when we eat it back home we all huddle close around a big table with everything put in separate bowls and we pass it all around as we each make a taco at a time. My favorite ingredient is my own guacamole, that's praised by friends and family who've tasted it. xD

Waffles. Oh they are so good, either with whipped cream and jam or with sourcream, rom(fisheggs) and a bit of lemonjuice. We even have a day in Sweden devoted to waffles: "The waffle-day". True story. It's coming up soon I think.

Kebab Roll (Kebabrulle). One of the few things that really fill me up. (I have a big appetite). The local place, Lötsjö Pizzeria, makes the best ones in Stockholm.

Then there's a few dishes that I don't have any pictures of since they're family recipes and we don't take many pictures of the food we eat.

Anyway, among them are "the Canadian Bowl" (a recipie my dad got from a former girlfriend from Canada) with rice, minced meat, worcestershire sauce and soy sauce plus a killer spaghetti-sauce with mushrooms, onions and cream.

Now I'm hungry. But it's 2:30 am and I'm poor, so I don't have any food to eat right now. Gotta buy and make something delicious later today!!! D:
