I mean this kind of rule must suck in world cups where two yellow cards = one game banned.
they said on an episode of qi that it is because that is where their shirt sponsors logo is, and since the cameras will be zoomed on the player, that's primetime exposure for the sponsors, so they penalize teams for taking off their shirts
modern football, etc
I heard this before but I don't think it's true, just a rumour like it's the fault of the Islamic countries complaining..
I think it's timewasting / inciting the crowd, possibly to avoid people having messages underneath on a vest go Ryan

This is horrible news for Germany... Well now it's Schweinsteiger's time to shine. It's all or nothing Schweini!
so fucking stupid grml I'm so sad Effort better win the OSL now to make me happy again
No Ballack pisses me off too :| Last game of the season and he gets an 8 week injury right before the world cup. I really wanted to see Ballack shine in this WC!

you should. You should've even before Ballack's injury actually. This wc comes too early for the team. We have lots of potential in the players that won the U19/U20/U21 championships, but they are too young for this world cup.
Hmm, I got them first in group, then beating USA, then beating Argentina, then losing to Spain. Those first two teams aren't exactly up to par either...so it's hard to pick.

Anyone else thinks it was done intentionally? Especially if he gets into the squad now (KP Boateng was only reserve).
his brother plays for germany and he could have played for germany himself. I really don't perceive him hating germany to the degree that he intentionally injures their captain.

I agree with this too but having a young squad with some very experienced players like Ballack would of rounded off the team really well.
With Ballack in the squad I would of predicted Germany to reach very far into the WC campaign also.
As a Chelsea fan I would LOVE to have Torres on my team but not for that much money.. Also surely we should wait till after the WC for the Torres bid? He's always plagued by injury, it's a risky thing going after Torres for that much money imo.
We care about money For this season when Carlo came he only bought Zhirkov I believe for 18 million, we didn't spend any money in the Jan window and Chelsea is actively trying to decrease it's spendings and increase it's profit etc and try to become self sufficient.
I hope we promote our youth players, they even won the youth cup, and spend less on big names even if we don't win trophies for a bit.
yea chelsea just used an infinite amount of money to get to the top, now they're trying to stay there without additional funds pouring into it all. they're prolly not gonna spend more than the other top 5 teams the next 5 years.
I'm probably way off but there are like at most 5 teams in the premiership that don't run at a loss. With a big club like Chelsea it's pretty much impossible.
lol, they dont spent money because the 5 best teams in europe are all in high debts. the only club who can finance himself is bayern munich, the only club who isnt stupid enough to spent over 40 mio. on a player and still manage a double and a final in the champions league. the most expensive player at bayern is ribery they bought him for 26mio. Munich is very clever they let play the youngstars which they grew themselfs up. lahm, schweinsteiger, müller, badstuber, kroos, contento all very young and all since their carrier started in munich.
