Fuck, SFIV would be awesome indeed, but isn't it a bit too early to include it? Even though the it seems really well balanced.

It's been out since at least August in the arcades. In Japan's national tournament a few months ago, the top 8 players used 7 different characters (only character repeat was Sagat). For that matter, the Korean national tourney champ won with a different character than those 7. Almost all of the new console characters are among the weaker characters in the cast, so they're not an issue. As a testament to the game's competitive popularity, a lot of previously retired or inactive players are playing SF4, as well as top guys from even 3D fighters and the King of Fighters (not to mention previous Capcom games). Some players who generally play the more modern 2D fighters are also spending a significant amount of time on SF4, and it's not like they still can't find nonstop competition on GG/BB/whatever. Tournament entries are huge all over.

I did hear early this year that there wouldn't be any EA games this year, I guess that must be true here is the article (In German): http://www.wcg-europe.com/de/news/25950.htm

Yeah hopefully SF4 will get on it, I really want to see that game become more popular. CoD4's competitive scene is still around, but I think it's dying because lack of leagues and tournaments. This is common considering how there's a new CoD game every 1 - 1 1/2 years.. heck, they even announced a Modern Warfare 2 recently. TF2 is also in the same boat as CoD4.

CEVO Season 3's finals were this past weekend for CoD4. TF2 also has a fairly competitive scene as well.

Or I suppose WCG USA could have decided to skip doing one / both due to low attendance for them last year.

Final Games List Counter-Strike 1.6 (PC) Starcraft: Broodwar (PC) Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne (PC) FIFA 2009 (PC) Trackmania Nations (PC) Red Stone (PC) Carom3D (PC) Virtua Fighter 5 (Xbox 360) Guitar Hero: World Tour (1v1) (Xbox 360) Asphalt 4 (Mobile Phone) Wise Star 2 (Mobile Phone) As well as another MMORPG named Dungeon and Fighter (I'm not familiar) as a promotional game tournament good call on trading NFS for TMN. And that's coming from someone who played NFS at the Grand finals before. Other than that, nothing too big. Interesting that Halo 3 or GoW 2 didn't make it in this year... Red Stone had a whopping 4 teams at the World Finals (the US finals had 3 teams, only one of which had ever played the game before). So those titles are no worse than last year, albeit not games picked for their competitive scenes. :p
