VICTORY FOR THE MIGHTY DEIMOS When I tackled the Sabre, they decloaked 2 Rapiers, 2 Machs, and a bomber. I was very alarmed and confused, this surely would turn out badly for my sweet Deimos. I defeated the honorable battle Sabre swiftly, as he burned straight for me and I for him, and was then pointed by a Stilleto. The Sabre was the only one with the scram, so the Rapiers had only time to burn my shields the Macharials just locked me, and then my MWD was back online, providing me ample transversal. Aeth and Johnny landed, expecting to have to take revenge for my Deimos. But then both rapiers cloaked, one mach cloaked and the other warped off; I suppose the bomber went somewhere else as well. Then that was it, and Kwark was somewhere, and fighting happened after this when another gang showed up, and I tackled an Onyx while Kwark showed it some pretty lights. The problem herein lies that you need 2-3 wins to cover a loss. In the older days of blink there were a handful of items in which the spread allowed for a much closer attempt to cover your losses. One of the frigs or cruisers used to pay at just under doubling your money(50%+1 tickets was almost half the value blink would put on your account including their credit bonus) , thus there was a handful of people happily grinding blink like that. I feel bad at math. I feel ya man.

Yes, but statistically speaking, you're probably more likely to end up with more if you spread your tickets out even a little bit. Look at it this way: if he'd bought one less ticket on that bhaalgorn, he almost certainly would've won, and he could've put that extra ticket towards a different blink and had a chance of doubling (or more!) the amount he got. But I'm not suggesting he split them evenly. It's obviously in his favour to buy the majority of the tickets on one item (the bhaalgorn). But if he were to take a small number out of there, he'd almost certainly still win the bhaalgorn draw, while having a chance of winning another, second draw. lets say he has 240 tickets worth of money instead of doing 15 blinks with 16 tickets, wouldn't 16 blinks with 15 tickets be better? and at what point would that stop working in his favour if it did not trolling, you seem to have statistics down and i dont know how to figure it out

The margin blink takes is built into the price of the tickets. Regardless of your approach, over enough time you will always be paying 20% above ship value for every ship you win. When you try to maximize your returns with the finite amount of runs you get, you build more and more risk into a smaller and smaller chance of a greater return to your self. If you split into 16 blinks with 16 tickets each you'd still have a ~35% chance of getting nothing.

1. A catalyst is not a very good ship to engage a Megathron 2. Oracles are not very good ships against 50 sentries 3. Vigilants are very cool ships This is going to be one seriously expensive (isk wise) summer.
