Hey all, you guys might have noticed the banner that replaced Fonger's ad (Fonger, noooo  ). Well I checked it out and it's a pretty awesome game (well...I have no idea wtf it is, but it looks awesome!)
So if you wanna join us just go to the ad and make an account on board 1 (The first one when you go to select a board).

I think we get more turns at after a certain time (tomorrow, in a few hours...not sure). They don't have a FAQ though so I guess we just have to figure everything out ourselves =/

When you place a square it takes you to a page with a "before" square and an "after square". You can actually use the after square to place more squares on the field.
However sometimes it's nice to be able to see the whole field while you're placing them, in that case you have to refresh after each move

OK, im in on this as well. I'm trying a hardcore macro approach with spaced out tiles so I can get many free squares when I fill it up later. Assuming, as with all macro builds, that noone disturbes me meanwhile. 
EDIT: reread the rules, and it turns out that I can only get extra squares by stealing them from others, not from white ones, so my macro approach is completely pointless and is only opening me up for attacks. Dont do like I did!!
Also discovered you can see who it is by hovering the mouse over a square.

haha, yeah I saw you were playing as well and I was about to ask you for strategy, but then changed my mind and just went for the macro strategy. Which turned out to be a mistake. I'll just ask you next time.  Also note the time 1.31am... I hate teamliquid for the sleep it is stealing from me.
I looked at another board, and the most successful players are like everywhere on the board. Also, one of the top players was drifty, the guy with the blue man sitting on something yellow, and he is just infiltrating everyone everywhere on our board. So Ill change strategy and just infiltrate any (non TL) players. And by infiltrate I mean steal their empty spaces that the tax creates.

Yep, Im fairly convinced that infiltration is the way to go. Even if you just put a new tile completely on its own it still got a decent probablity to turn a adjecent tile white, or make it yours. If it turns white, just follow up, and you will have a better chance on the second shot since you already have a tile nearby that reinforced your probability. I just got 7 bonus tiles from my 40 that I places, and I destroyed maybe 30-40 tiles for other players. So just infiltrate the hell out of everyone (but CHECK WITH THE PLAYER LIST IN THE OP FIRST!! no friendly fire plz) and we will DOMINATE!! My macro idea was probably the worst possible way to play this.
i also emailed a custom tile . Let's all make that to easier see who we should not infiltrate, and to display our awesomeness. It's like 1 min to open paint resize to 25x25, draw "TL" in random color, save as "gif" and mail to them.

I just did a two pronged attack against the chicks and the red kanji dude. However the chicks still have 20 moves left so I kept a reserve in preparation for her counter attack.
It seems Syxygy is getting the hang of things, he was in the top 20 for a while.
Also as I said, I'll be using sleepy as a tile reserve to take revenge hits on people. If anyone needs help just ask and I'll try to send some over (then I'll let you kill sleepy's tiles once the threat is gone).

Nobody here is ophelia right? I just noticed they were attacking one of the TL signs so I sent a few (...ok the rest) of sleepy's tiles there.

I just spent 46 moves with cascades strategy. I am ranked second right now, with sleepytoss behind me. TL internet owning has commenced.

More strategy thoughts:
I think in early game, as in plenty of open space as it is now, it is probably more important to get more tiled yourself than to destroy your oponents. At least as long as they dont get too big. And to get as many tiles as possible you must feed of the other players. The more spread out the other player, the easier to feed of him. (which made my "macro" strat a VERY easy prey)
So you dont want to attack a solid block just for your own good. For destroying a powerful opponent i tmay be neded later on, but not early game imo. If you find holes in it it may be a good idea to infiltrate though.
And the very best scenario is if you find some n00b (like us) that has their tiles in more or less the same area, but with lots of holes in it. Then you can abuse the holes and you will get many of the opponents tiles forf free since you will have so many other tiles close by yourself.
Infiltrate is good, but it may be a bit more agressive that what is strictly neccessary as of yet. So to "macro up" what we should do is to eat the other newbs that cant defend themselves properly.

After observing this game for a while I think the best way to get ahead is to just put a couple of tiles in so you can start getting 2 tiles per turn instead of 1, then just hold back and mass tiles for a while. Then after you have enough start invading/absorbing smaller blobs and spread yourself out a lot.
That's kind of what I've been doing with sleepytoss and he's doing awesome. With Falcynn I've just been trying to establish one large blob and while it worked for a bit, I'm starting to get my ass kicked now.

It took less than a day for them to update my logo, but it won't change previous tiles But they didn't change lemonwalrus's yet either so maybe it'll just take a while.

Edit: can somebody make me a custom TL sign since I seem to be computer illiterate and can't figure out resizing in paint. If you want you can send it straight to the custom place for randombum . Instructions on how to resize according to pixels and and % would also be appreciated.

How to resize in mspaint (for dummies, the blind (who can't read this), and those who haven't experimented with it)
1) Get the image you want into mspaint and have it fill up the entire are (no white), I recommend making the white area well smaller than the image then pasting it in.
2) Image---> Attributes to see what size the image currently is
3) Determine what % you need to scale image by to get desired size
4) Image---> Strech/Skew, use the strech option
I assume you are going to want to measure in Pixels and you might need a calculator to find the percentage to scale.

lol, I just opened up mspaint and pasted a 25 by 25 pixel image. Then I pasted image I wanted and moved it to the correct spot. Since, only 25 by 25 will be shown. I just opened up another mspaint to resize image, hehe.
edit: I got the 25 by 25 from mmosbg, I used the duckie image, tehe.

the TL people list is in the OP (you can mouseover an icon to see whose it is), but you can also look for starcraft icons - chances are, they'll be TL.
the current game will be over soon, but the basic game goes like this:
depending on how many squares you have on the board, you get new squares every hour that you can place (at xx:19)
1 if you have 0 sq on board
2 if you have 1
3 if you have 41
4 if you have 81
etc.
also, random squares (afaik) become neutral/white at random times (at least i think it's random. iirc someone said xx:49 but that doesn't seem right)
every time you place a square, depending on how many of your own squares you have around it, enemy squares either turn white/neutral or your color.

Basic stratagy:
1) early game place them in a big block (square/rectangles), expand the block as you get more moves. Filling in holes in the block will be your first priority through out the game.
2) Mid-late game you will want to use the "tax" to take holes opened in others large blocks to damage others.
3) Never stop expanding your block even if that shifts to a secondary priority.
4) You will figure out the rest.
Timings
New moves: 20 past the hour (at least on my computers clocks)
Tax: Unknown I would predict 50 past (theoretically this is the best time to spend your moves. [Immediately after the tax not 50])

End game it is good to take tax holes in areas populated by a lot of DIFFERENT players, because the probability of expansion is better than if it is just one guy.

This game I had a pretty good start, building a block off-middle and away from the walls and trying to keep filling in tax holes. But towards mid game, it's key to save up some blocks and take up tax holes in other territorities because they're insulated, and if somebody attacks your expansion they'll hurt other players too. My main block got half-eaten by splatter/h3ri/Knutt, but I'm still in game with expos.
btw is TL- markoman604 someone from here, or somebody taking up the name so they don't get attacked? ;o

How could you. And obviously, we Starcraft players have the mechanics to quickly click those squares ^_^.
The best start imho is to put two squares randomly in to earn that 1 more interest, until you have about 40 (can collect 48 at max or 150% of your squares), and then devour a player to get above 40 fast. After that I dont really now, I guess building your blob is better at first than randomly attacking in the tax holes at first. If you build a tax hole in a players blob he early he will take those back sooner or later. If its late in the game, building randomly works just as good probably, because everyone is all over the place anyway .

The game ends when the board is full, so when you see the board at about 90% completion you can figure it'll end in several hours. But there's no hard time limit to when the game ends.

Bottom right corner is probably the best starting spot. Anywhere near top left will get you raaaaped.

Why feel sorry? That is the game. You don't say sorry everytime you kill a unit in sc.
Havin exams this week is just perfect for this game. You just log on every hour to get a short break and put your moves . I'm at home all the time anyway.

Is there any way to get rid of enemy squares in the middle of your big blocks? You'd think they'd turn neutral at least. I suppose tax might get them eventually...
Edit: Caller did a huge attack on me. That's a little dissapointing .

Ya but yours was tactical. I could have had that ground easily if Caller didn't spend 50 moves surrounding me...
