England: Man.U rocked as expected, C.Ronaldo will be able to buy tons of gel for his hair wearing Player of the year medals. All eyes on who Arsenal brings in with Hleb/Flamini leaving. Chelsea sacked managers like Cristiano puts gel on his hair. Liverpool's big $$$ torres payed off with tons of goals. Special Props: Fulham for pulling the great escape when everyone thought they were done. I guess thats what you get when half your team is american. Spain: Craptacular year for la liga. R.Madrid won it fairly early, but kept losing to low table teams. Barca was even worse, and dont even get me started on Valencia. At least they won the Spanish cup(Valencia). Special Props:Villareal finishing second. Italy: Fairly entertaining year and it went down to the wire, but Inter kept the title. AC Milan didn't make the CL(Bayern munich style rebuild please?). Probably the first ''legit'' Serie A season in a while and it was a great one. Special Props:Roma for getting the Italian cup and finishing second so close to Inter. They gave us a good season of football. Germany: I think its safe to say that no team dominated their league as much as Bayern. Big buys - big wins(not necessarily true however; see Premiership for proof). The whole team went well, except their destruction at Zenit St-petersburgh (Germans get destroyed at Leningrad again...). Hamburg and Bayern loses their managers, we will have to wait this summer for Bayerns replacement(maybe someone can enlight me on that?). Special Props:Werder Bremen finished second in the bundesliga and were BY FAR the most entertaining team of Europe - screw defense, they scored 75 goals in 34 games, third in europe behind Man.U(80) and R.Madrid(84)(however those two teams played 38 games). France:The tightest French league since Lyon won their first title 7 years ago(already...). Even though i would have loved for Bordeaux to stop Lyon from winning a 7th time in a row, they made the title be decided at the last game. All eyes on Lyon's players this summer as checks may be flying in for Benzema, Toulalan, Squillaci... At the bottom of the table, Paris almost got relegated, saving their asses from major embarassement on the last day. Special Props: Bordeaux for making it go to the wire. Manager Laurent Blanc gave us a great Ligue 1 season. Kind of funny that all the leagues where we had to wait far in the season to see the champion, the champions were the same(lyon,man.u,rmadrid,inter). The only domination was by bayern(who didn't win last year).

And yeah Werder was great this season. For us as fans it didn't even matter that much if they won or lost, if they lost you could be sure it was one amazing game to watch anyway.

not to mention that, despite wanting some control and demanding a lot, abramovich lets managers play CM with cheatcodes.. that's also bound to have some appeal. AND, if you end up failing, it doesnt have to be a big loss of prestigue, as a lot of the blame will fall on abramovich' shoulders. I do believe virtually any manager would prefer the position of ferguson or wenger, but those positions dont come out of nowhere and normally only happen when a great manager brings a slumping / not that great team to greatness. fact is, pretty much any board of a top 10 team in europe except arsenal and manchester united would sack their coach/manager if said coach/manager failed to deliver a trophy for 2 seasons. for chelsea, it's 1 season instead. ![]()

vs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7k2L6c7XXk I can't decide. Diego was faster, but Beckham was a little further away. ![]()

the German goal there was just as badass though. That one hit the crossbar and almost missed, but the Beckham goal was just 100% on target. also because the crowd went apeshit compared to the German crowd.
