I'd like to see a rebalanced aztec be played though, mainly just for nostalgia. Because you know, I am the one and only.

![]() Making a competitive version of Aztec is hard though. But it's Valve, they'll figure out what to do ![]()

I mean they've done a lot to aztec over the years to try and make it better, same with dust 1. But it hasn't really worked, I think the new dust 1 has sort of ruined it's charm even.

When you're against a high caliber team you better respect them. There's no such thing as "getting rolled if you don't disrespect the other team."

You usually hear teams say stuff like that to hype each other up, but it's generally more along the lines of "They ain't got nothin' on us" and stuff like that. But when you outright call some players bad it's really like wtf, manner please. When you're against a high caliber team you better respect them. There's no such thing as "getting rolled if you don't disrespect the other team." Lol yeah you're right, when they die to someone on NiP they should be saying "wow what a great player his aim is ridiculous". Or when they lose rounds they should be saying "They're a great team guys its ok". Just no. You probably don't understand if you haven't ever played a high level match like that but when you are beating arguably the best team in the world you can say stuff like "Lets go they fucking suck" to keep your team hyped and the momentum rolling. CS is all about confidence, if you tell yourself they suck you'll play better, if you tell yourself you can't beat a certain team you'll play extremely scared and afraid and won't make any plays. This isn't sc2, its a completely different game and the mentality is different as well. Every pro in sc2 is extremely humble but that does not work in this game. If they said this in an interview then you would have the right to feel the way you do. But when its just over comms it doesn't mean anything and every team does it. Either way it was a really impressive performance for coL, especially considering what they said about having issues with time and internet this past week and not being able to play together.

Whether they said this particular thing in team comms isn't meaningless in this particular scenario since I could smell their arrogance drizzling down their chin with the way they said shit. It's totally different from just hyping people up - they really weren't respecting NiP and they got spanked for it after d2. I knew going into the LGB game that they were going to lose there too just from their attitudes after the Clan-Mystik game. Believe it or not arrogance can be as much of a crutch as it can be a useful mechanism. It's also this arrogance that has stunted NA E-sports for the longest time. Kids needa learn how to be humble. If you wanna look at one of the biggest reasons why the U.S. is so behind in e-sports, just check their attitudes during practice and tournaments. It speaks volumes.

I've played games at a very high level before (albeit not CS) and there is no stupid code such as disrespecting your opponent to give you an edge. They say "ns" in chat yes, but in their mumbles everyone always complains when they die or is upset when they die. You are entitled to your opinion but its pretty obvious you don't play CS competitively. Everyone that plays CS competitively rages after dying and you would be surprised if you heard the kind of shit people say in their mumbles during matches. You are being so stuck up acting like no other team does it but I guarantee even NiP was saying the same shit, especially judging from what they said about not losing to "fucking americans". Everyone is human and once you picture someone as being some kind of god you are already defeated mentally. This is why a lot of people that play competitive CS get nervous in matches and end up performing poorly.

And you are basing your opinion on what everyone in the NA scene says, though when I listen in on iBP's comms they aren't nearly at the same level of smug as coL, so that already discredits your "everyone" comment. The guy already said the "fucking americans" comment wasn't nearly as harsh as it sounded, and even if it was I wouldn't care. tbh I do say stuff like "respect" is important to excel over opponents but I should probably correct myself: the matter is generally different depending on the situation. There's two different forms of disrespect in competitive sports: one that leads one to underestimate their opponent and one that doesn't. I believe NiP generally know not to underestimate their opponents, but the way coL played after d2, you could tell they were underestimating NiP and that lead to a lot of stupid mistakes even on Train.

What do you expect them to do? They weren't even comming at all and sounded like an amateur team, with everyone sounding depressed and emo. Again, you do have to play cs competitively to understand, which is why I brought it up twice. I played both sc2 and cs competitively and I can tell you that I'm a victim of doing the same thing when I play cs. Someone on Hell Raisers screamed "Suck it bitch!" in russian after beating Titan, yet what coL says offends you...comical

And coL weren't winning on Nuke and Train and yet they still flaunted their arrogance around. Might be better than being emo but it's still not gonna allow you to take out a team like NiP. "Suck it bitch!" is no problem. Taunting the other team is no problem. Saying friberg is bad after he kills you and then making fun of them for being source players while getting dominated is just them being a sore fucking loser.

Your unfortunate problem is that you're another person trapped in the NA scene and can't see past the little bubble you're wrapped up in. That's not to say that foreign teams don't do the same things, but I can't understand what they're saying so I wouldn't know (and probably you for that matter), and if they did make the same mistake as coL and ended up underestimating their opponent well then, they deserve no respect as well. Yeah, only the NA scene is arrogant and douchey.
