I'd like everyone on that list to post in the thread and reconfirm that you will indeed be taking part to the tournament on Sunday. I will update the list with each confirmation.
Regarding the time: I think most people are from Europe, right? If so, perhaps 2pm CET could work. I'm thinking it should be somewhere in that area, perhaps between 2pm and 4-6pm for people from other continents, as the time difference should still allow for participation for them. To help with this, when you confirm, make sure you state where you are currently living, and what time (CET) works for you.
Hopefully we can make it happen!

It means so far, we only have 6 players, with two unsure. So, possibly 8 players.
Regarding the tournament itself, it will be at 4pm CET. It will happen on GArena, since the re-vote decided so.Download it here if you don't have it. Regarding the brackets, I will create them tomorrow morning probably, using http://binarybeast.com/.
I will post later tonight to decide of the room where we will meet on GArena. As of now, I'm working on the translation of patent, so... not much time. I will keep working tomorrow, but I will make time for the tournament nonetheless if all 8 players can attend. Worst case, if we only have 6 players, we can do some other games and have a little event.

Ok, so it seems like the LAN games on most servers/countries are down. Been trying too switch beteen different servers ex, asian countries etc. Didn't work, WC3 isn't listed. Would probably be a good idea to switch the location to w3arena. Since that will work. Assuming that atleast most of us are from europe, and will have a good ping on the w3arena client.

Got a friend that do play on w3arena sometimes, and hes from US. The ping is pretty high depending on where in the US you live. w3arena as it is now, can only give you a good ping if you're from EU.
NL: 44 ms US EAST: 207 ms
DE: 40 ms US WEST: 187 ms

6 players is fine imo. theres a chance some unregistered people, who read this thread, might show up

Heh, that's interesting about GArena. W3arena it is then. They do have servers that are located in the US I recall. Though at the moment I have a problem with w3arena: it can't launch WC3 somehow.
Whenever I do try to make it start the game, it gives me "Couldn't open game.dll". The game starts just fine on its own too... Errrr that sucks T_T I've tried reinstalling and all - nothing.
Does anybody else have that? Though I could play on my laptop... It worked fine there.
Anyway: we will see tomorrow! I will make the bracket on the spot when everybody shows up, it'll be fun.

just confirmed, my w3arena works. but I cant host games, so somebody else will have to

About your problem Spaylz, could be something with, were you've installed WC3, could be possible that w3arena can only start WC3 if its installed in the default folder. Not sure tho.

I use to play shittons of UMS.(the LotR maps, go figure) many years ago, and have started playing WC3 UMS maps again.
I don't think I can participate in this upcoming tourney, though. My only experience with 1v1 was getting rekt'd during a ladder reset. I only played on the 3v3 ladder lol.

When we have people there, I'll make the bracket and post it on the thread, along with the map info, depending on the amount of people. I'll update everything as it goes on!

... Im in the Garena messenger but i dont have any option for lan or something else to connect it to the game. :/
edit: What i have found.
Garena has apparently removed virtual LAN from Garena+ client without any notice. All games including Warcraft 3 TFT/DotA, Counter-Strike and Age of Empire etc. are no longer supported. Users around the world are unable to join game rooms as loading gets stuck at "Auth in Main Server". Also, new Garena+ update is being rolled out in which LAN Games button is completely removed.

Yes, Garena is down for WC3. So w3arena client is a must if we wanna avoid lag. It easy 2 get, so shouldn't be a problem for anyone.

Yep, we are forced to do w3arena. I didn't even know about GArena until MiKE pointed it out.

And we have a winner!
After a few games, and a nice finale with interesting games, duckk (aka CatLikeThief) won the tournament, 2-0 in the finals against MvS.MiKE!
It was fun. Short, but fun. I'll definitely look into organizing a new one very soon. Also, need to practice, cause so damn rusty...
Overall, we had 8 people, and it went smoothly.
I'll keep you guys posted for the next tournament. Or perhaps, I will do a poll for another type of event, we shall see!
