The Grizz look like favourites to make the Finals now. Can't see GS or the Spurs getting over them.

Grizz looking like the team to challenge the Heat in the finals, if they weren't already.

Golden State and, to a much greater extent, San Antonio execute about as well as you can in the Western Conference. I'd like to the Grizzlies play a team that actually, you know, has an NBA-Caliber coach. Did I just call Mark Jackson an NBA-Caliber coach? The world really has changed.

However they have an opportunity to get it done sooner than later while the Spurs (who blew their chance for a quick series last night) and Warriors battle eachother to a potential g7. What makes it worse is the Spurs and Warriors are the 2 teams which need rest the most compared to a team like the Grizz. Grizz will probably give the heat a hard time as well, since their main players are big people and the heat have trouble with that

The Pacers and Grizz are surprisingly similar. Playing the Pacers may actually help the Heat a lot going into the finals against the Grizz (if this is how things play out.)

Mark Jackson's Gameplan: Phase 1: Shoot a ridiculously high percentage of contested jumpers and 3s. Phase 2: Kick Tony Parker in the calf. Phase 3: TBD

I'm not saying they aren't very good or even the favorites to make it out the West, but they really lack offensive fire power. GS is a team that excels because it has great personnel in Curry and Thompson who are amazing 3pt shooters, especially Curry. I wouldn't say their coaching is better than Scott Brooks (although certainly better than VDN), and GSW is a team that thrives because of their talent much like OKC. I also wouldn't say that they are exceptional at executing defensively.

They milk as many points as you can from their big men and aren't gifted with mediocre perimeter scorers. The fact that they have just gotten better during both series is a reflection on the coaching. Fixed for you. We don't have any great scorers. Pondexter/Conley are decent at best.
