rpf doesnt have a tl.net tag yet T_T

Yeah, I'm working on that. :/

-300k crop production....wow.

Edit: I was going to demand my resources back, but seeing as you know him, and he's already been decimated, I won't. Just let him know not to raid me again or I will get my resources back. :/

rpf, i'll send u some stuff when my merchants are free. (preferably not clay, and i'll practically throw iron at you)
|
Nah, you don't have to send me stuff. I'll gladly take any iron you don't need. I have too much clay myself. I don't have a marketplace, so can I even accept a merchant from you?
|
Yeah, you can. He's been feeding me for like 3 days now.
Ugly things are happening: I am raiding 50-pop guys for hundreds of crap, but they can't touch me because my noob protection is good for 4 more days. Imbalance ^^.

If they (larger pop villages) are close by, then it's probably not smart to hit them. But if they're in an entirely different quadrant, then go for it. Make use of the alliance forum to get reinforcement help if necessary. That weak alliance with top pop of 80 sounds like a good one to hit. PM Petachu or use your alliance forum for help.
I am pretty sure that only Teutons have the audacity to go into negative crop production. XD But to ensure you don't get kicked by having not enough crops, you have to be active. The whole point of having negative crop production is that you raid so often that you bring back home enough food to keep your troops happy that you don't need to feed them yourself. So another words, you're having your enemies' villages feed your army for you. -19 sounds ok, just make sure you don't get too greedy and that you actually have a decent stockpile of crop already. Build a marketplace as backup as well.
Hope this helps uhjoo. <3
thx neo~
a few more questions (for anyone):
1) i'm basically only raiding, getting clubs, and upgrading crop so i don't get too negative. should i just rinse repeat this until i get like 500 clubs? this seems a rather difficult proposition b/c i'll have to up my crop fields constantly unless i want to be -400 crop or something.
2) when should i start thinking of teching? should i really wait until i get 500 clubs? i'm tempted for example to just tech my main building to level 10 or something cuz i hate waiting an hour for each field and building upgrade
3) should i be foregoing defensive units completely? my greatest fear is that i'll lose my entire club army to 20 TTs or something while i sleep -_-;;
thanks in advance to any replies

Basically what you're doing is the same thing my brother and few other starting Teutons in my alliance are doing. It seems reeeeeally boring, I know. Mass clubbers, do mass attacks around, build crop. Eventually you'll reach crop output which will be at a higher output than the rate you can pump clubbers. That's around level 5 or 6 crop fields. The fact is that your units are so good at raiding (the 2/3 effective cranny ability), you don't need to focus on upgrading other fields like Romans or Gauls.
I would say get up to 100 clubbers and then start opening your tech a bit. First thing you want to get would be an Academy and tech for Spearfighters. Spears are the Teutonic anti-calvary. Have enough of them and TTs will impale themselves easily. Spears are by far the most cost-effective anti-calvary in the game. Until you can reach that level of tech, you'll probably want to send your clubbers on some long journey to a 2 pop village. The point is that they'll be walking somewhere while you sleep and hit something that won't cause any casualties for you. Remember that the ETA is only half of the trip, you have to double the time to ensure your units get back home by the time you wake up.
One last raiding tip, for their cost, clubbers are pretty effective at attacking. You can easily overwhelm most Romans and Gauls that are at the same pop level as you. On your initial raid on a village, you probably want to send all your clubbers together. This will minimize your losses since you will have higher number of units. Later on in the game when there are certain villages that you are positive that are inactive, you want to spread out your units and hit as many villages as you can. For example, my brother and four other alliance members are pretty clumped together so there is a lot of competition for raiding villages. By tonight, most of them are rather dry. My brother has about 40 clubbers right now. Instead of sending all 40 to one village, I send about 3-4 to about 10-13 different villages. This will maximize the load that your clubbers bring back home.

Dude, when did you make rax? How many swingers you got now? Teach me pls :o

Currently, my fields are 4445-4445-4445-555554 and so I'm wondering if it's too early to try to tech to Equites Imperatoris.

T_T for Equ Imps I need.. lvl 3 rax lvl 5 acad lvl 3 blacksmith lvl 1 stables? :/ This could take a while. Almost right except the end. It's Level 5 stables to be able to make do the Equ Imp tech at the Academy. You don't get Equ Imps just because you have the building. Think of it as teching for Lurker Aspect. Which also means you need a level 5 warehouse to store all the wood you need to research equimps

All these raids and upping my fields, I guess I should build a warehouse sooner or later.

incoming!!!
i have an attack coming in from someone that's 18 hours away
i have no idea what that could mean, but I have a feeling it's bad news. 18 hours is too far away for a raid. i think someone is trying to kill me. probably a friend of one of the many people i've pissed off lol.... no clue how to proceed
|
i guess i'll just send all my stuff away so the village is empty when they hit
i hope they don't have siege equipment :|
anyone i can reinforce with 100 clubswingers for a bit?
|
Calculate how far they are (pythagoras), then see which is their slowest unit. If their speed is something like 4 then its catas.
|
okay shit this just got a lot more complicated.
the attack is from a guy named grokel (165 pop teuton) who is part of an alliance called mafia-n. they are huge.
however they also have an NAP with tl.net. i need reinforcement or he's going to rape me. should i message their alliance leader?
|
Just pull out your troops, spend all money and send resources away. We'll need to wait for the big bullies to wake up and help you @@ Plus reinforcing isn't really worth it unless you totally annihlate him without losing much. Its more frustrating to see 0 casualties and 0 bounty than getting to wipe out the defender.
|
just make your village empty and then ask for your resources back when he raids you. tell him there's a NAP and he violated it, and if he chooses to not give back the resources, message his leader, if they both refuse, then it's a declaration of war
