I actually have more free time now, so I hopefully can manage to remember this and not drop out early again. Count me in.

Also, what happens when people fail to vote? Move with highest votes wins?
People fail to vote all the time. Doesn't make a difference. The move with the highest votes at the time of the deadline wins, no matter the voter turnout. If there's a tie between several moves, I'll pick one of them at random.

Still waiting for a few more players before officially starting the game. Once the game starts, you can either post your votes in this thread or PM them to me. If there's a consensus on one move, then that move will be played immediately and you'll get the extra time to use later on in the form of extensions, if you need them.

All right, you are officially an observer on Team Black—but I'd really encourage both you and Karl to go ahead and take part in the voting too, even if you don't think you're the strongest player. It's not as if the strength of a consultation team is determined by the average strength of its individual players; on the contrary, it will tend to be stronger than any of them. Even if Player A is a weaker player overall than player B, he may sometimes spot a move that Player B has missed. Since there's no cap on the size of either team, it's not as if you'd be occupying a spot that could have gone to someone else, either. As for the voting, if you listen to what other people are saying and cast an informed vote based on their arguments, then you certainly won't be dragging down the team. At worst, if there's a tight race between two moves and you don't feel qualified to pick, you can always abstain from a particular vote.

If you change your mind about voting, just post again in this thread or PM me.

Fair enough. I guess I could give it a shot!

I'll play again, sign me up.

I was sad when the last game with Ng5 died, it was a really interesting position. I PMed him after his ban run out, but he never responded.

Of course. People are welcome to join at any time, including after the game starts. In fact I'd be surprised if there weren't a fair bit of turnover in the rosters of active players on each team over the course of the months that it takes to play a game like this.

You can always use long algebraic notation if you like (i.e. specify the starting square).

With jampidampi's addition to the roster of Team Black, the game has officially started. If you're on Team White, post your vote for move 1 in this thread, or PM it to me, if you'd rather keep your vote under wraps. If you want to change your vote, put the updated vote in a new post/PM—only the last version of your vote before the vote closes will be counted.

Voting closes in three days or when one move gets an absolute majority of the vote.

So get that majority to post or PM their votes here and it will be official.

I agree.
Even during difficult times, when I sat down to play the game, there were times where it felt like god has descended down and played [for me].
