My grandmother liked to watch football when my cousin started cheerleading, but she didn't really understand anything beyond "get the ball in the endzone, tackle the guy with the ball." Strategy, formations, substitutions, passing route running, blocking patterns, blitzing, man vs zone coverage, etc. is there for people who want to understand the game at its depth, but it is popular because of the easy accessibility of the basic information. Fighting games are a lot like that. It's easy to tell who's winning and who's losing, and rounds are quick. Tension is easy to understand; when a match is down to the wire and one hit means the difference between victory and defeat, anybody can understand that. | ||

Good against Fei Long, which was probably key to why he beat Fuudo, last year's champ. Apparently good against Cammy but well, he does bad against Chi-Rithy I guess. | ||
