When i first selected a server, i got a dialogue telling me that to switch to a different server i would need to purchase a server transfer which indicates that there is no more free region switch possible like it was in GW1.
Yes, the purchase will probably work via the 'gems' that you can purchase for cash, however it can be also obtained via game by purchasing them for ingame gold from the players that sell them (or something along these lines).
So basically you need to pay with something that can be purchased by cash but people can buy it in-game also.
Hm I thought I heard somewhere that they'll some kind of feature that allows me to play with people from other servers/regions without having to transfer the character. Guess not
That's the annoying thing about being in Korea aaahhh
It was in Guild Wars 1, you could go to any region via a simple ingame drop down box. I will miss that function Having different servers is annoying and not having them was THE feature that distinguished Guild Wars from most other MMOs. Now it will be "hey, you are playing GW2, too? Which Server? Oh, no, my guild is on XYZ, now we can't play together" all over again

This option will exist in Guild Wars 2. It is not working yet for the BWE's, but when we get to release or before then, when you get to the character select screen, click the select server button, and there is an option to Guest on another server. This means you will be able to play on that server and with friends from other servers, but you will not be able to play WvW for that new server. Guesting will be what you want.
Panty is busy right now so we're going to make a few changes to the OP If you want to join the guild, you simply PM Nylocke ingame or PM Valashu on TL I'll try to be online a lot so just send me a PM and start playing the game, we can meet up later.
I'm trying really hard not to get too hyped for this game. Easier said than done, of course.
Considering not playing in the final BWE. It's a tough one, though, as I wouldn't mind having a quick look at the Sylvari and Asura starting areas, to help me decide on what to go with for my main.
Anyone considering sitting this BWE out? Anyone any closer to settling on a main char?
I am settled on a Human Warrior. Mainly cause i need to be a melee character and Thiefs just fight cowardly in my opininion Also Human cause the animations and looks are the best. Norns looks to clumpsy and almost like monsters.

Just tell me one reason why I should give this terrible game a shot?! (Played the first beta in may/march?!)
I honestly can't tell if you're trolling to cause arguments or if you genuinely feel this way. In which case, how do you expect us to answer you when you don't specify any of the things you're unhappy about? Plus there are already many other sources for 'why you should play GW2' and no one here is obligated to make another post about this for you.
