Strong performance by Sauber - hopefully not the last time we see them up there.

Both McLarens seemed slow which is almost as confusing. Grats to Alonso, he drove brilliantly also. Actually, the fastest guy out there was Räikkönen, who seems to be continuing his old habit of driving the fastest lap of the race in the last few laps, probably because he "had nothing better to do". ![]()

Merc looks crap in race. Lotus still underperforming. Alonso proving his class. Stellar drive from Perez, a pity he made this error but still. Great race overall ![]()

Raikonnen was incredibly slow after last pitstop, racing with Senna and losing tones of time to Webbo, so i dont know wherethose fastest times came from.. i guess he learned how to make those pirrellis work at some point. Anyway, Lotus pitstops are among the slowest on the grid, kimi should've get past webbo after the last one.

So if you look at the laptimes then it does mean that. Overall, the fastest guy in this race was Alonso, but Perez wasn't far behind. Without that mistake near the end he would have been fighting for the win.

Alonso was faster for about half the laps on inters after the restart, after that Perez was. He lost time with the delayed pitstops and his mistake, they are the only reason he lost.

Also massively gutted for Button, and wish Hamilton would be happier with his own performance.

But the other perspective is he's turned 2 pole positions into 3rd places. That's not very particularly positive going forward. Furthermore, everyone is having a go at the lack of speed for Ferrari but in this race Hamilton was not catching Fernando at all towards the end of the race. The race pace wasn't really there. The Red Bulls were faster in the race today, as was the Sauber! It makes a super exciting start to the season though; it's impossible to predict what will happen in the next races and that hasn't been the case for a while due a certain driver. Speaking of Vettel, he was livid because of the incident with Karthikeyan; even going as far as calling him an "idiot". Having watched the incident that seems a little harsh.
