For me at least, it is way more accurate than the normal M4, wall oder doorbanging with this gun is not a good idea though.
Somehow, I can't hit anything with the normal M4 (or I should practise more) compared to the silenced one.
Also, for me, it feels closer to cs 1.6 to have a silencer on a M4 XD

In the end its a question of preference.
If you have troubles holding sites with only 20bullets then take the A4. Thats what I ended up doing.
Being able to wallbang is also nice.

I would use the A1s in a team setting where roles are defined and you know you are not the guy who has to wallbang or hold against rushes

looks like it. i prefer a4 because somehow i seem to be more precise with it (i know it's the opposite), but i just don't have that confidence when playing silenced version.

I started initially with the A1 after not playing since I was in highschool, felt more confident with it. A4 seems preferable, wallbanging and general spamming through smoke to hold down a location seems to outweigh the benefit of slightly higher accuracy.

Also while spraying through smoke, the non silent version feels "more disuading" than the silent version.

i know i read the m4 doesnt hit through some obstacles where the aug and the t rifles get through, but i forgot if its both m4's or only one of them?

I use the M4A4 because I like to play more forward positions where I don't need to be sneaky. And I treasure the 10 extra rounds in the magazine.

One of the things I've noticed playing on DM servers that instant-reload on kill is that I generally end up spraying 2-4 extra rounds with rifles after getting the kill (unless I'm at tap range). I used to prefer the A1-S but I'm playing with the A4 these days and its kinda better or something. I dunno. If only I didn't suck.

Was playing some MM the other night. Went 30 - 9 in the first game that we won. Then literally the game after ended up 0 - 20. I don't really get it. Is it the mmr or is it me. Just feels like my play is so volatile.

Just play more. I was very "streaky" for awhile like that. Once I finally settled on a good mouse sensitivity and just stuck with the same settings I started to be more consistent.

So after being stuck in gold nova 1 for like a whole year (basically since I got the game), I ranked up to MG1 during last few weeks. I swear to god, people in top silver / lower nova ranks play exactly the same like people in AK/double AK ranks. The only differrence I noticed is the higher ranked people aim a little faster, but in terms of strategy, holding spots, using nades to their advantage, crosshair placement etc., its the same.
