I played DOTA2 a lot. I mean a LOT. I don't play as much anymore but I pretty much exclusively solo queued and frankly it could be a gigantic pain. To be sure of having the best chance of winning I had to very specifically choose from a small selection of heroes that I: 1. knew I was good at and 2. knew I could carry the game with if necessary. Which on the whole left me exclusively playing Spectre in ranked games. On one of my accounts I tried to be "clever" with my placement matches and just played flavour of the month heroes but it didn't really work out. There's just no comparison in CSGO. I'm perfectly happy to solo queue in CSGO because I know if need be I can ignore my team and just try to carry the game. Some games are bad but for the most part...well I comfortably dragged myself up from SEM to MGE and I'm banging on the door of DMG in around a hundred games; despite considering myself to be on the whole godawful at traditional shooters like CS.
