My merveil was 38 minutes. I had no RNG, had to kill her with 50dps on my burning arrow, because my only transmute on my long bow got +16 dexterity. I never found any currency all race in which case ranger just sucks ass. Outside of descent it's really painful to play ranger because there's no guaranteed currency. In descent its alot less rng dependant because you get a shit ton of currency.

edit: Made 23rd overall, 4th best non duelist XD

Perhaps. But getting to that point is really difficult with ranger. You start off with split arrow in the first two zones at which point you are a good 2 levels behind cleave or ice nova users. It's really difficult, Duelist is very faceroll in Descent, I tried duelist in the 24h descent several times and it was alot easier than any other class. Duelist is also most efficient at killing exiles with dual strike, so there alone you save a good 3-4 minutes on any other class just killing exiles.

Wow that race was totally hopeless. I died at Merveil without a chance. Had no +life items drop, didn't find iron rings, no rustic sash until like lvl 12... and best of all I was wearing a blue Jade Chopper with basically no extra damage. Didn't find any weapons with IPD. Would've probably worked out better if I used cleave, it's not as painful with bad RNG.

Wow lol.. that 4th race was interesting. I had absolutely garbage RNG the entire race except for some luck finding a chain of magic packs in the last 60 seconds. I had a 41 minute merveil kill with 20% cold res. (Only 1 sapphire for sale and it was a 20%.) Somehow I managed to level from 12 to 19 in the last 19 minutes. Finished 25th overall.

I got trolled hard in Endless Ledge, I thought about going RoA for a while but decided to go cleave dual strike instead. And what do you know second zone two rare quivers drop, third zone I find a rare short bow. That's just RNG laughing in your face.

Well I learned some things in that Endless Ledge.

First try I picked up only Dual Strike & Cleave just to find out there aren't two Swords/Axes. (Failed to pick up Fire trap too) I thought I'll find another one really fast anyway, and guess what, I found like 10 wands, maces etc. before finding it. Ended up dying after like 10-15minutes.

Second try I did basically the same, but went Ground Slam with the Driftwood Maul at first, then immediately went Cleave when i found a Sword. Did lvl 17 and made like place 85ish. Definitely should've played Ground Slam until at least when you get the lvl6-7 Sword/Axes.

That rogue descent race was pure troll. I had a lighning arrow exile guard the door surrounded by cold archers. Got basically oneshotted. Rerolled duelist with less than 40 mins left and almost made lvl 17. What a joke that class XD

I'm seriously thinking about going Duelist in descent from now on, it was so much easier and faster to kill stuff, especially in the statue zone.

I used to play POE - hardcore until first race season.

I liked the game overall far more than TL 2 and Diablo 3 but stopped due to lackluster race rewards, desync issues and true melee characters feeling weak.

How game changed over past several months ? I would like to play it again, is new onslaught good idea or should i wait till next season.

Race rewards have never been worse imo. At least I don't care one bit about the prizes this season. Desync issues are still the same, sometimes even worse.

Melee characters are fine if you have decent equip, but they're not good for getting wealthy as it's hard to get any MF while still doing fine.

Also definitely wait until the next new league starts, Onslaught and Anarchy will be gone in early October.

Edit: Died way too early in the 105 min race. Made a little mistake and died to Merveil's chosen freezers. Well, after I went to watch Hybris stream and wow, he has nice luck... he found a 79?% ipd Jade Chopper with 2 more damage stats, not sure if +physical too.

Imo if you are racing for race rewards you're doing it wrong, all about dat competition, learning, and fighting for them Demigods.
ES is still more popular than life.
Everyone still thinks Spork is OP.
Couple new cool uniques have been released.
Reave was pretty much a dissapointment.

Yeah Reave is the worst, I tried it on a new char (not sure if it's good end game) and it's the worst AoE gem I've played aside from Whirling Blades (idk about Cyclone).

But can we expect incremental buffs to reave? Skills are much better when they're released underpowered and buffed than when they're released overpowered and have to be nerfed imo.

Im not expecting any/much changes as far as balances goes until full release in a month or whenever it's supposed to be. That's also why I haven't really worked on new builds at all. Just kinda feels like a crapshoot until I can atleast see the patch notes to get an idea of whats getting buffed/nerfed/changed/added.

Guys I have a quick question, This is my first play through, and I'm building a cold + fire witch as my first char ( no totem, just pure caster ). I'm wondering about what main cold skill to use. Since I have reach Cruel, and after a quest I was presented with Artic Breath. So in the end, Artic Breath or Ice Spear, which one is better? As in which one is more fun to play and can help me finish the game in P v E.
