edit: just to elaborate on that, the reason that annoys me is not that they die, it's this pretentious bullshit "yeah we should beat the top group because I'm here now." and then just die like noobs. That's what annoys me, first you put pressure on the whole group and then you don't even deliver. You finished really well. Sorry for sucking. @LagLovah; Im NA, so I guess we could race sometime if you want? Im probably best at normal/BLAMT races.
This wasn't aimed at you at all. I don't blame my teammates for dying and you are welcome to race with us anytime you want (same goes for laglovah, we are 90% US based, so the only one who gets to deal with cross-server lag is me lol)
The only time I get really annoyed is when people like QQchen or GreatOne come in and go "im so good, I did some races with kripp and helmann so we should be able to beat them" and then die in act 1. it's just really frustrating because shit like this puts so much pressure on everyone else and then instead of doing work they die really early on which honestly makes them look like idiots.
That's why I said "I really don't want to race with greatone" when QQchen suggested to let him join in, he's full of shit and dies in 90% of his races. (as a matter of fact, he actually died in this race too, so good thing we didn't run with him).
edit: I mean, the most annoying part about losing teammates in Act1 is that, without exception, I always have to solo chamber of sins with a pure dmg spec and 200 health, because nobody else in the group is willing to. That's the only time I ever come close to dying, our chamber of sins person dies in act1 and I have to glass cannon it solo. Today I solo'd chamber of sin and got to the boss faster than our marauder and witch got to the weaver, like wtf were they doing? I didn't say anything but it is honestly a mystery how people can be so slow to get to the weaver, which is only really 3 zones, while I solo'd 5 (more dangerous) zones even faster. In fact, they were so slow finding the weaver, I actually used their TP and got to the weaver before they did. /facepalm
edit2: Just to clarify because I don't want to sound like an asshole, if people want to go slow, that's fine, I generally have no problem with that, I'd rather have my teammates go slow than to see them die. But, if that happens I think I'm justified to point out that I actually carried the group pretty hard. And I'll tell people like qqchen and greatone to go f*** themselves for putting me on the spot, after letting everyone know how great they are. "Hey im greatone, I'm so good and I have to go chamber of sin act 2" - dies act 1 -> slix has to go sins. "hey im qqchen and im so good and I have to go sins in act 2" - dies act 1 -> slix has to go sins. As a consequence I simply won't ever race with either of these two guys again, everyone else is always welcome to join us and can die as much as they want, as long as they don't put pressure on the group or go "im so good blabla".

I just felt bad because I didn't have a mic and died so early. Even though that was potentially the most BS death I have ever had in a race, it still was rather absurdly early and I looked really dumb, in retrospect I probably should have stayed back and farmed with you guys more instead of trying to do the run as pure dps tree spec, but I still think I would have made it if it wasn't for that. :/ I really appreciating you letting me racing with you/you guys. I actually used to map with the toxic group on TS, but I had to do do exams at school for a week and so I wasnt online.. and then literally no one was ever online and I didn't have a clue what happened.

Like I said, nobody in our group is ever going to give you shit for dying, unless you act like GreatOne or QQChen and go "I'm so good at racing" and basically make it sound like you are going to carry the group. Someone like you, who doesn't say such over-confident nonsense can run with us whenever they want. Our group works well, some people are a little bit slower than others, but you won't ever hear me say "I don't want to race with X because he's slower than me". I'm good friends with the guys on my group (perkits, ghudda, wege and pun) and we have good chemistry, which to me personally is more important than getting "first to ledge" (like greatone). It's important to note that you were only racing with two people from our actual group (wege and myself), everyone else were people who we usually don't race with. I still have no idea how that marauder was in our group all of a sudden and I didn't realize that she was actually a girl until she first started talking 45 mins in, like wtf, where did she come from?

So turns out cleave on ranger is not good. Don't meet the strength requirement to use the lvl6 axes so have terrible dps until lvl10\11 weapons. 45 mins to kill merveil O_O

Not a single dps item until ledge and only whites after make me really depressed. Got some currency at least (but no trasmutes, coz fuck me, why would i need blue items)

Looks like ZoRoXo will win a demi if he doesn't die. All the competition died, and he's 3 levels ahead of the 2nd duelist with 30 mins left.

Yeah went much better than I expected. I started out really good and fell behind when I hit Brutus. Some really bad rng and I had to back off like 4 times and tp out 2 times.
Then the good ol' no sapphire ring at vendor on lvl 13 nor 14. Luckily I found a 23% one on the way, and a large life flask. Actually wasted a lot of time running back to find last 3 mobs in cavern of anger to get lvl14 to use the flask.
But the most scary part by far was Sins boss. I ran spider cave first, and then to lvl3 sins. When I was almost at the boss someone in the top died and whined in global how insane that boss is as melee on turbo. Which brought back horrible memories last turbo solo race when he litterally 2-shot me in an instant when I had like 50 lightning res, and this time I had 28%. So I ended up doing western quest, 2 bandits and got to lvl 21.5 ca when I did him. Lucky me got a lightning resist flask in the Kraithlyn zone that ended up making the sins boss really easy.
That flask also ended up saving my life at Vaal. Never done him no turbo before so was not sure what to expect. The smashes are usually easy to dodge without movespeed on onslaught which is 20% so what can go wrong? 
Well, turns out that I was not able to dodge a single smash. I had about 580 life and the smash did 500ish damage. No quicksilver, no movespeed on boots, but 1 large flask with movespeed on use that saved me from laser followup. Spent like 10 minutes on Vaal and 10+ tp's. Had to use the big 12 dps firetrap since I couldn't always get next to him, and if I got stuck in frost I had to insta tp out

Considering doing the famine race but never done a famine race so not entirely sure how that will change the boss strats/log out strats.

Time for my first descent race. Going for shadow with freeze pulse and traps, anyone has some pieces fo advice to give ?

I think people go for EK with Shadows now. But it looks pretty hard either way. Good luck !

Man, ok died again to desync, third descent race in a row. This time I was lvl 20, 7 minutes before the end, when some merveil witch just hit me through a wall. I'm getting so annoyed, I was on pace with 3rd ranger record and about to hit lvl 21.
Desync in descent really sucks so bad.
edit: And I still made top 18th overall, despite dying 7 mins before the end. Man, that's frustrating as hell.

#1 Marauder, #12 overall. Made lvl 21 the first time, though that was just cuz i didn't die for once lol. RNG wasn't very good, but it worked. ^^
Had mostly blue items, i think i had only like 4 rares in my final equip.... And my weapon wasn't very good. The first weapon i had was pretty good but then i got no decent upgrade. I found a 2h sword for lvl 22 with 86% ipd... but never got there. :D
In retrospect i wasted too much time in the goat zone although i could've advanced much earlier. I was there until almost lvl 8, rofl. Statues level wasn't great either, i walked towards north and somehow managed to walk the wrong path. Everything from like lvl 14-19 was prettty rough cuz my weapon wasn't top notch then.

Only a bit over 900k, pretty bad run. Almost full cleared the 2nd zone trying to get even level 3.5, awful monster density. Good job all you guys finishing highly!

Grats Holyda and Zoroxo. Seems like Marauders should be doing better than that, but it seems very easy to die with them.
I had an amazing start, but had to logout twice in Statues to some random desync. Then I didn't play very good, but had an amazing Hall.
You were flying after the Abyss, Slix. I was way ahead early on, then you passed me and was 5-10% faster everywhere.
It looks like Fleep and Cobait were both on pace for a new record, but died somewhere in Desecrated. I guess that's bound to happen with 0 defense and Point Blank. But damn they get there fast.

Yeah I went ham, I had insane gear and was owning everything. I had 130 dps with 350 health, when I desynced and a merveil witch crit me through a wall, I pretty much got oneshot. I tried to log but it was too late.
edit: I think we should form a TL race team. We all do extremely well in solo races, so I don't even want to imagine how well we could do in parties.

Ive only tried playing ranger in a solo race once in the last week, and I went cleave, I thought the idea was to start out with cleave since split arrow is trash, and keep going with it until you find a suitable bow to use RoA with?
Either way I never found I had a large problem with str, since usually what holds cleave builds back is a lack of Agi to use the faster weapons, you normally only need one or the other can you not simply use an agate amulet?
I did die in the race I was playing, got shotgunned by the revamped LMP fireball unique monster in anger, after having gone cleave the whole race, was 9th overall and 2nd ranger when I died. Though goratha had a huge lead on me at the time.
I'm pretty sure I remember using whalebone rapiers at 7, and doing fine with them. The phys 1 hand and sword nodes in ranger tree are pretty good either way, but you do end up fairly glass cannon I guess.
