I feel ranger is incredibly snowbally. On a Duelist you don't need insane gear to do okay until you find it, on the Ranger you find a piece of sick equipment and it carries you far enough to get sicker pieces of equipment easily.

Yeah absolutely, the difficulty in buffing the ranger tree is that they are one of the strongest classes in races, if you find the right gear. That's why my proposal is to leave the top half of the tree almost untouched (with the exception of some optional life nodes) and only buff the bottom half of the tree for endgame rangers. There is absolutely no reason for any other class to spec into the ranger tree, because all the key nodes are either phys damage focused with bows or garbage. Giving rangers a key node similar to the gladiator one would not only keep them balanced in races (because you don't spec there if you are racing) but also give other classes a reason to actually spec into the ranger tree in the endgame, especially if it came with 2 other nodes that add both a percentage of life and armour/evasion. That in fact would be unique for just rangers and make builds alot more interesting.

But the middle/bottom is disgusting. They'll probably greatly buff all the melee/shield/crit nodes, and throw in some mana, now that Mana Flows is hidden in the Duelist tree. I'd expect them to throw in some sort of Versatility (+str/int). But it's not really gonna help for Descent. Unless they add extra arrows to low level Split Arrow, Rangers should start with a quiver. A white quiver or an iron ring is +40% damage. In the first 5 levels, you go from ~6dps split arrow to ~11dps RoA out of guaranteed white items, and easily 20dps with iron rings or magic items.

Yeah absolutely. By the way I sent you a pm, please let me know if you are interested. We got a 5 man group together for the 1h party in 2 hours. We still need a templar, but if you want to go ranger I can go templar no problem. If you don't want to that's fine, I'll just extent the offer to everyone else here, if you are looking for a solid race group (top 20-50 overall) and want to play templar or ranger just send me a PM. teamspeak required

(in the current Descent race) Helmannn vastly underrated the power of those dischargers... He tried to tank 3 blue onces and died easily. Kripp died too. To desync, he tried to pass a pack fo flame sentinels and then got teleported back into it. Pwere doing nicely i see. Better than Kripp :D Anyway sort of weak race, no lvl 22 at all.

http://poestatistics.com/events/descent-s03d045/shadow/ I found a blue-green linked +1 cold magic wand early.. so I used all of my alchs defensively, saved me more than once I think. 3x alch + 1 chaos shield and never ended up with any spell dmg, always like 5% es 2 x 9% resists and 15 life.

I need to learn to lose less time in the statue/abyss levels. I always fall behind there. 5th Ranger, 26th overall. Apparently, you still get 93%XP as level 16 in a level 21 zone. It's probably worth it to push the discharger zone a lot. It's pretty short too, and very safe for a Ranger. Edit: Grats anyway LagLovah !

Now if only i wouldn't have rushed so much earlier and died badly to skelly/rhoas due to no potions... then i would've had 4-5 min more. Still was enough! ^^ Posted my equip on the PoE forums, that weapon was godly. Also grats, Pwere. Rangers just got even more competition with Goratha hopefully continuing as Ranger. Haha. Wishful thinking though, but perhaps he's trying to set a new Ranger record. He's far ahead regarding the Marauder record...

When I play dota, I may get a bit angry about others flaming me (without responding to them, goes without saying) and want to relax on PoE. It seems as if selling halfway decent items gets me nothing but shitty responses. "lol #4 axe, then mine is #1", "poe.xy.is is for noobs" and so on. Amagad. Better trade system pls. I like the trade system as it is because it has a high skill cap. Advertising, bartering, and pricing items all are very important. You can also find deals because someone is having a hard time selling a good item. I'm pretty good at trading so now I can just sit in town and casually make profit.

Today's news update is a quick one about the 0.11.2 patch. We're expecting to deploy it early next week, probably on Monday or Tuesday (New Zealand time). It will include many bug fixes, a revamp of the Ranger part of the passive skill tree, changes to monster accuracy and evasion :3

Did you use many passives for dmg or are you supposed to build for defence?

Let's face it, bartering borders on scamming. Sure it's fun at first, buying a sword for a few millions and reselling it for 250$ right before it's nerfed, but it fosters hatred and empowers sociopaths. It's unproductive at best, but short of rebuilding eBay and craigslist, it's what we have to deal with. So, what I'm saying is that I agree with zdf. Trading shows the worst in people, but a "better trade system" really isn't that obvious. ps. Grats HolydaKing, #1 is damn impressive. I've yet to win one, or even come close, really. The learning curve is much steeper than anticipated!

Trading isn't skill based, it's knowledge based. Skill and knowledge aren't synonymous. The two are entirely different concepts.
