Most people run Granite, Quicksilver, and a resistance pot that would help in that area. Plus two instant pots. You typically can't sustain off lifesteal until you're in maps though so one over time/one instant flask for oh shit moments.
I can confirm seething health pots are mandatory to have unless you want to be in default league
Seething are such a pain to roll though as you level...

By the end of cruel you can be leveled up enough to use Hallowed flasks so it isn't really an issue. If you run life heavy builds while you're leveling up then your flasks don't come anywhere close to recovering your health so you either alt F4 or empty a whole flask.

Start with something simple imo. You can play a fun build after you have some resources to actually make it work.
thoughts? im competely noob and i have no slighest idea about passive skills.
It is typically more efficient to just run away from the uniques you don't have to kill.

I'm just afraid of running anything life-based. My fears seem to be well-founded; my Duelist had 1800 HP and capped resists when he died (though my death was due to an obvious gameplay error on my part). I only skipped 3 life nodes on my path up the tree, too (to save on Regrets).
I really don't know what's viable in the endgame anymore, and I don't want to waste my time playing something that sucks. I really liked the idea of Cyclone Claw CI, too.

Dying isn't a big issue, the economy is fresh and there are no artificial insertions of items from other leagues. Plus you get to fight cool enemies. The only drawback is the lack of certain items (Koams heart, onyx amulets/prismatic rings).
I've been spamming trade for onyx amulets wondering why none want to sell it.........
Anyhow, I got really bored of my LA / frenzy ranger as it's way too easy with some decent gear and build (completed act 1 merciless without a death so far, almost 4 attacks per second with lifeleech frenzy and aoe spam chained LA kills everything). Saw Kripps discharge build but not gonna manmode it that way. How are melee builds looking these days? On Anarchy multistrike gems are the most expencive shit ever, so I can see that as an obvious problem, but other then that, are they even remotely viable compared to ezmode ranged builds?
You might want to finish act 2 before you start talking about easy mode. Act 1 isn't anywhere close to dangerous.
The top streamers (etup/martincreek) were playing melee builds when I was glancing earlier, although they all involve CI instead of life I think. They seemed ES heavy at the very least, although they weren't 1/1 life.
Not saying the acts are easy, I'm saying I don't enjoy the build as it has absolutely no risk from anything (obvious over exaggeration, but you get my point), very high margin of error leads to boring gameplay. Never played a CI character, might as well give it a whirl.
Right now, the most popular melee build is DW cleave+multistrike.
Multistrike goes for like 3 GCP. Understandable considering 80% of the melee players I've ran maps with are running this build. Safe to consider it FOTM aside from dual spork, lol
The most fun I had in this game was a "swiss army knife" duelist. Basically flicker + viper strike for single target and focusing ennemies, fire traps and cleave for everything else. Very fun to play, skill oriented. But I didn't reach endgame with it, and I think there will be an issue of skillgems slots. Was using bloodrage, warlords mark (physical damage build, before the buff...), artic armor and molten shell. Wish I could play right now, really wanted to push that character to its limits...

Spork is a pain to level as, luckily though ele cleave is still imba, and you can get to merciless quite easily with it, then switch to dual totem without even blowing to many regrets. Its just not the most efficient way to go there from templar compared to witch.
The other way to do it is to do the CI dual totem build and level with LMP or GMP freezing pulse, its alot slower than the cleave route, but less regrets are used to switch into damage than from the templar side of the tree.
Its quite easy to level as ele cleave or leapslam mara to mid 60s safely, then just go into whatever your desired build was originally.
