I intend to use Firetrap as the main aoe spell, and Fireball as single target with ignite crits being the bulk of the dps.
For a 5L Fireball, is Fireball + Life Leech + Increased Critical Damage + Elemental Proliferation + Fire Pen a good combo? I'm intrigued with Increased Burning Damage but haven't gotten a chance to test it out.
Also, does firepen / increased burning damage work with fire trap? Am a little lost on how to link the Fire trap other than having conc effect.
edit: Does the change to Lightning Warp mean that leveling it up causes it to warp faster? I suggest you go Fireball + Ele prolif + Increased burn dmg + Fire Pen + Chance to ignite. Then get searing touch and the increased burn damage nodes above templar. There is no life leech but imo you should try using shield regen or life regen. I might run two fireballs, one of them with Life Leech+LMP when leech is necessary, the burn damage one when just dpsing.
Thanks for the feed back.

I just got my explosive arrow 5L'd. Im doing Explosive Arrow + Chance to Ignite + Elemental Proliferation + Fire Penetration + Increased AoE. Is that okay? Edit: The explosive arrow is 18%, and the AoE is 11%.

You should ditch increased AoE and get increased burning damage. The AoE should already be very large.

Started up onslaught today again. up to level 40 on my ranger, Trying to go Rain of arrows build but i keep finding like 250max 2h mauls and bows with light radius so for now... leap slam it is.
On the plus side I 1 shot most everything.. 2 shot champs. Temporary fun anyways, leapslam doesnt last forever.

If someone is interested in LMP or GMP, was lucky last night with the drops, PM me with price on TL.
On a different note, Iron Grip has such a high node price to even reach the keystone I'm wondering if it's worth it...

I'm having terrible luck with drops in onslaught. all my gear is junk and the only valuable currency I've found is one alch. I'm not playing super hardcore so I'm only in act 2 cruel but I've had better bows in like, 2 hour races.

You can get really gimped on your first char in a new league, try doing something gear independent and farm on it, most builds can reach act 2 cruel with terribad gear, maybe you'll find enough going there to start you up

I'm starting a Melee Duelist on Onslaught, currently level 34 been playing with LagLovah. I'm skipping IR and Unwavering and going with Sword+Shield mostly moving toward the Marauder + Templar tree similar to an LA Ranger build.
Anyone have any recommendations for end-game? I'm thinking Cleave+Lifeleech+etc & Double Strike + EWD+LoH+Fire Dmg+ FA etc. Then getting Shield passives near Templar zone and AOE passives as well.
Of course I named myself after Crixus from Spartacus.

Anyone building CI characters? I'm debating whether I NEED unwavering stance or not. On the one hand getting stunned sucks, but I'm wondering if %stun recovery gear/flasks it can be compensated. Not really keen on spending ~13 points to get there when I could pump that into more crit or ES nodes. Softcore, mind you.

did they fix game optimization (especially with amd) or you still need NASA computer to run this game in party with 5 people

Using eye is the typical choice.

Well, Eye of Chayula (Onyx Amulet, has "Cannot be Stunned" as one of it's mods) is by far the typical choice but it has this disadvantage of not being available in Anarchy/Onslaught leagues.
In Anarchy (since you specified softcore) you can probably live without it as a RANGED CI char (depending on how close you intend on being to mobs). As a melee CI char stun immunity is just not optional. Builds like Dual Spork don't need to do much except run around so they don't need it. Builds like freezing pulse like to run up close to do damage etc so they probably need it.

I guess I'll just try without US and use respec points if maps are too difficult. Increased Stun recovery granites hopefully will do the trick.

They won't prevent you from being stun locked by rhoas or other stupid creatures. You may be able to dodge them though, although that is high risk.
I tried this on my latest Bow Marauder and it is now in default so I wouldn't recommend it.
|
Yeah, as Blitzkrieg said the problem is that the things that stun you are the chargers (rhoas, guards, etc). And the chargers are the things that desync the easiest.
Translation: the easiest way to die as a CI character (maybe after reflect) is also the most heavily affected by desync. Ouch.
Thats why Unwavering or Eye is so key.

So in essence it would be a lot easier to spork totem IIQ/IIR faceroll.
|
Always put Iron Skin on granites, not increased stun.
The maximum stun duration is 350ms. I have not tried it, but with around +200% stun recovery you are looking at 90ms stuns, which may be playable (you get stunned every other hit). Charges cannot be evaded but can be blocked, and block recovery is much easier to get than stun recovery, so you might go that route with a high block chance.

Just at a glance your early witch tree seems a bit odd to me- so many int nodes clicked. If you plan on going fp- why not take the spell damage? Or, if you're going CI, why avoid the ES nodes below deep wisdom ?
