There’s a 30% quantity bonus, but you can’t see what mods they have while playing them. This doesn’t apply to unique maps. Now that is interesting. Will make low level maps a lot more interesting after you can do pretty much any mod. Kinda risky though if you're doing say Dungeon and you end up getting a cold damage Brutus or something ^_^ or blood magic if you're CI. Wish i had more unidentified maps.
To your first problem: Dungeon map sucks quite hard, guess you'd need to be careful either way. Hardcore players with CI probably won't do this method but if they do it they can just turn off their auras before they go in the map and see if their mana is zero. Else they'd probably get instant killed? Or perhaps the auras automatically get turned off, since you can't kill yourself with spells while using bloodmagic either.

That Cruel Merv idea was quite good. I ran around with around 100% IIR (I don't have any IIQ gear, really) and just demolished stuff, finding a ton of good vendor items in the process. Definitely a great way to farm Alterations.

Just out of curiousity, how many do you think you find in an hour? With my level 78 ranger with like 15% IIR I can make 20 alterations an hour just from doing low level maps/catacombs.

Not that much, but EK isn't exactly the god of farming. I never timed it or anything, but the uniques dropped a lot of loot. I think I'd walk away with a full inventory of rares from each Caverns run (both zones). I also experimented with the physical reflect affix on a Dunes map. Even with 2.5k EK DPS, never ever again. ;x

How much armor do you have?

8,200 armour and 5150 life (after mana reserved for Grace).

Anyone know of a good path of exile website, with builds and a tl like community?

For builds you can take a look at this site: ExilePro. Here are statistics for races and stuff. For community you can use Forum on their own page.

For builds it's probably best to check the official forums as well. Although it's a bit more demanding to find builds there. Exilepro isn't very updated and it's said that most of the builds offered there are more for people that already got lots of currency to get the necessary equipment for those builds to shine.

Thanks for the tips, the builds I've seen so far seem to be about 6,7 times better than my fireball sorc. One thing though is that I've found 0 uniques so far, and won't get any playing solo, so some things are clearly out of reach for a long time to come. Which is good, going to take this nice and slow, playing slowly and experimenting with stuff myself, just like I'd like to have played diablo 2.

I wouldn't be too concerned about not having uniques.
Depending on what build you are doing some of the uniques may be very inexpensive or far too expensive for many people to buy.
If you're doing self-found, however, unless you are lucky there probably will be a few builds you just simply won't be able to make work.

This morning I got kaom's from Asphyxia on a 70% coves map. Then, feeling lucky, I threw 20 fusings into my quill rain. I already spent 2.2k fusings trying for the 6 link. Got it with only 1 fusing left over. I am ecstatic.
The build I am running is explosive arrow. I currently have 100 IIR/IIQ, 9.7k hp, 7.4% hp/s regen, max resist, and -28% chaos resist. I will be getting an Andvarius soon, making my IIR go up to 175ish. My dps will be ~24k when my explosive arrow fully levels. The explosion of EA itself hits enemies at the edge of the screen, and then those enemies can proliferate the burn offscreen. Bosses die in one burn. Basically anything I look at dies.
My links are: Explosive arrow + Increased Burning Damage + Chance to Ignite + Increased AoE + Elemental Proliferation + Fire Penetration. All Gems 20%.
EA is probably in the top 5 specs right now, but is still very underplayed. I really love the build. The reason why it is so good is because explosive arrow has massive base dps and does most of its damage through burn damage, which isn't reflected. This makes gear very flexible.
Out of the top 5 specs, I think that it has the best potential for magic find. On helm, boots and gloves the build only needs 90+ life and some resist, so there is plenty of room for IIR/IIQ. On rings/neck all you need is +#life and fire damage. If you can afford to lose 100 life on gear then you can swap out for an andvarius very easily.

How do you not randomly explode to reflect with EA? oo

Most of the EA damage is through the burn; burning damage "double dips" from curses and elemental equilibrium, meaning the initial explosion gets amplified, and then the burn gets amplified a second time. The burn already does 1/3 of the initial hit every second for 4 seconds.
I also only fire out 1-2 arrows onto most packs. Being able to only shoot out a few arrows at once gives EA an advantage that many builds do not have: the ability to throttle dps between "trash pack mode" and "champions/rare mode".
Burn damage is not reflected, and elemental proliferation works off of any dead mob's corpse, making the ground into a lava pit of death that can kill mobs such as rhoas before they get close.
EDIT: Forgot to mention I am on hardcore. My current level is 81. My last EAer died at 84 because of the hidden 45s timer after making a new instance in which one cannot logout. I was doing 2 minute sarn runs. Ran straight to Perpetus and DCed. He must have attacked me for 20s before it logged me out.

Nice bow! Also, playing HC with the discs and desynchs... you are a brave man (or woman, no prejudice :p).
edit: thought it was armour... Also, 2,2k fusings? wtf? ^^

Should have watched Havoc while he was getting to level 100. Those guys dropped over 100 chaos on one map ^_^

I don't understand how people have so much currency... I'm up to level 70 and working my way up the map chain, and I don't find significantly more fusings/higher currencies than I do on my lower level alts. Does it just ramp up at 80+ or is playing the trading game pretty much mandatory?

RMT or trading.
The RMT cycle seems to have gotten hold of this game.

Holy shit, Khaoms and a 6 link...
Anyway your stats are great, but keep in mind that burning damage is bugged. Everything you kill with it will not trigger any IIR and IIQ. A known bug without a fix thus far (or i missed that fix).
edit: ah no i got that wrong. http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/178416 says that Burning damage just doesn't work with support gems with IIQ and IIR.
