It would be nice if they could differentiate players and mobs better. ..or at least give people an option to scale it down a bit. Sometimes I wonder if I just accidentally installed a Final Fantasy game.

This is why I play maps solo, to much frame delay

Figure a no socket (well 3 unlinked) 750 EVA +80 life 41% fire res 19% cold 38% lightning chest is worth 4 gcp on SC?
Referring to the first chest in this thread. Seems like that's most of the stats you'd want, mediocre EVA notwithstanding.
Haven't bothered to buy any items from the forums yet, but trying to get a handle on item value based on properties other than being 5L or 6L. Don't know when to upgrade my currently 3L, 450 eva, +81 life, 33% cold, 22% lightning chest.

Playing a melee char, I would really like to see something allowing to reduce the spell effect. Most of the time, in 6 players group, even clicking on the mob is hard t.t

Everything in that shop is overpriced. Search using this and find a better deal. You should also upgrade to a five link chest unless you already have a five link weapon. Try to get life on it, but you can fill out your resists on other pieces since prices go up exponentially for life resist 5L chests.
Unless you never want a five link chest or have plans to pick up a weapon instead you put yourself into an odd place by upgrading to a life triple resist chest that will be almost impossible to replace if you ever want a five/six link chest.

Lvl 17, 4th duelist, 25th overall. Pretty good run. It was a really shitty run, then I got a quality rare lvl 8 2hander off of Brutus, and turned a 30 min Brutus kill into a 42 min Merveil kill. Only 20k xp from 2nd Duelist and top 20...
Is the patch supposed to hit in the next few hours? Those Kiwi times are hard to convert.

Figured the dearth of activity in the thread after an entire day was pretty damning wrt prices. I guess I've been spoiled in my one attempt to get links going (randomly tossed 6 fusings at a 6 socket item and got a 5L).
Have said solid 5L bow for LA, how important would a 5L chest for e.g. elemental hit be?
We need to get big enough for our own forum so I don't feel guilty question-spamming the main thread. D:

The fifth/sixth link on elemental hit is relatively useless. If your goal is to tank out though you should look for a higher evasion/armor value; 1500+. Assassin Garb if you can for the extra movespeed or astral plate for the resists, but that might be pushing your budget.

gah died with 19 minutes left almost to lvl 12 and this thing, to exploding buggers + ranged magic mob. + Show Spoiler +Rarity: Rare Wrath Needle Bastard Sword -------- Two Handed Sword Quality: +13% (augmented) Physical Damage: 29-48 (augmented) Critical Strike Chance: 5% Attacks per Second: 1.35 -------- Requirements: Level: 12 Str (gem): 24 Dex: 30 -------- 18% increased Accuracy Rating -------- 59% increased Physical Damage +14 to Dexterity +10% to Fire Resistance +9% to Cold Resistance
So releveled to 8 for the point, finding 10% Movespeed boots in the shop after hillock....
did manage 18th duelist in race #25.
and since I never posted in the thread before.
Account: evantrees Build: LA Shadow(Ruhen lvl 61), 2h duelist(25) ,iceshot ranger(ilit lvl 37), EK something Hardcore playtime pretty random other: canada est, up for trying to play with others.

Up to lvl 52(my other is 64) now in HC and liking it a lot more. Obviously still tons of health. how much to get up to 95% evade projectile?
47.5% chance to evade it straight up doubles the evade chance vs projectiles , you may need a bit more evasion. since character screen is vs random white mob of your level, so not sure how that compares exactly but, roughly what to aim for, you may want more normal evasion if you can get it though for everything else. If you rely on arrow dodging be wary of Projectile Weakness.

I'm pretty sure this blows any pure armor build out of the water. Out of curiosity, do you have any stun mitigation stuff? Or are you just relying on evading those 100% hit skills (eg. rhoas, shield charge) through movement?

Seems about right. I had only 500+ HP and barely lived through a ground slam. You can melee him for sure. You just have to move and dodge a lot (speaking of normal). There are specific phases where it's safe to hit him. When he's spawning mobs or shooting frost, for instance.

You can use +100% armor granites and high fire resist for normal/cruel. idk if you can tank him reliably on merci though. I also used fairgraves unique to tank his lightening shots, in CB though.

My marauder is too tanky. Pretty sure I ate a double shock ground slam ^_^ Took me like 20 minutes to dps him down though. I don't do any damage

watching Nugi on his self-found 1 week race character
god damn he has a 6L chest

So far I'm relying on that on all my characters, mostly because I'm a firm believer that IR is overvalued, which results in unwavering stance being overvalued.
You need lots of life (or ES) no matter if you go for armor or evasion, just with the way they scale I think it's foolish to rely on only one of them. Pure armor means you're vulnerable to high damage hits, pure evasion means you're vulnerable to lots of medium hits. As long as you have enough armor (and life) to not get into danger from a couple of hits evasion gives you that little bit of extra survivability in tough scenarios.
Basically at the point where more armor won't help you against the things that ARE scary (which is pretty soon) it's better to find sources of evasion rather than... more armor.

I just died to a single vaal ground slam with no shock stack in cruel. 1900 Hp disapeared in a single hit

Heh, lvl 17 again, but ~40th and 6th duelist this time with the same exp. It seems like 500k xp doesn't cut it anymore, unless the top duelists were using Poison Arrow, but I doubt it. Duelists will be OP in races after this patch... Basically free 12% attack speed and no need to choose between dual wield or 2h for a few more levels. 18 points today, not bad at all.

How does one actually get the currencies to buy any items at all? I had to borderline beg people to accept my 1 chaos orb and 3 alch orbs for a weapon and belt I really needed to upgrade on my lvl 50 marauder (leveled a witch to 45 and didn't have a single currency drop better then blacksmith stones).
Am I missing something huge here or is it just the worst RNG I ever had?
|
??? How could you never have had a currency drop better than blacksmith stones?
I mean it helps to know about vendor recipes (6 sockets = 7 jewellers, not relevant pre 50, 3 linked sockets of diff colors = chromatic, sell a rare from every slot = 1 chaos, 2 if unidentified). Also helpful to recognize easily traded gems (GMP, chain).
That said, I must have had at least ~45 fusings alone drop among my lev. 66, lev. 39, and several lowlevel chars (using that as a measure because I've never traded/vendored for any/only used a few). For another comparison, I have about 100 chaos worth of currency without a whole lot of trading. I don't have any godly increased item quantity items either so I expect this is pretty typical.

Am I missing something huge here or is it just the worst RNG I ever had? Currency drops are penalized if you're too overleveled (and underleveled as well? I know there are xp penalties for being underleveled, but not sure about penalties to currency drops) for a particular area.
Dunno if this applies to your situation though.
