Pros and cons?? So hard to decide Cold pen should be better than added cold damage, but I think there are better options than it. Faster casting or projectile speed should be better.
I just bought my first 6L last night!
So I am thinking FP (20%) + Lifeleech + GMP + Faster Casting is my main 4 that I will have.
I will replace Faster projectiles that I have been using with my previous 5L armor with either cold penetration/added cold dmg and then put added lightning damage for shock stack effects.
So the final 6L will contain FP (20%) + Lifeleech + GMP + Faster Casting + Added cold dmg/cold pene + Added Lightning dmg
EDIT: I am banking on my crazy mana regen/mana pool through passives and gear to uphold my casting costs without having to run mana leech, and my move + cast playstyle to regen my mana inbetween casts

I'm not sure the shocks would actually work without any other lightning damage. You're better off adding an arc totem if you want to apply shocks than adding it onto your Freezing Pulse I'd imagine.
I've been meaning to test to see how long a naked ALD proc actually lasts, but haven't been able to find an ALD gem for a reasonable price.
I'd also suggest double checking that you don't need mana leech on your six link. Going from four gems to six gems is going to increase the mana cost significantly.

This game seriously has the worst story presentation of any game I've ever played. Yes, it's a beta, but this is just laughable. Apparently I just beat the game for the first time. I killed Piety, got her key, the dude in town said the big boss was still alive in his tower, and when I opened the door, I ended up in the beginning of the game on cruel difficulty. The other act transitions weren't any better. There is zero atmosphere in this game, no emotion, excitement, horror or suspense. At no point did I really know or care who my adversaries are, what they did or want, and why. The developers still have a lot of work ahead of them.

It's not really about the story at the moment. The gameplay is very good though once you get into it a bit.

This game was never intended to be a story driven RPG. You came in with the wrong expectation.

Its also in open beta and I'd assume that final door leads into the new act 4 they plan to release on its official launch.

Act 3 isn't actually finished yet so it might just lead into act 3X.

I suppose it's not worth it to wander my bowranger into the duelist tree in the hopes that she'll get a reset?

Since they're moving berserking everyone should be getting a reset I'd imagine (assuming you have beserking; 15% attack speed is pretty good so most builds pick it up since they want unwavering stance anyway). I hope they don't just remove that point and give everyone an extra point. That would really suck imo ^_^ In the past whenever they've changed the skilltree they have reset everyone though so who knows what will happen.

Coincidence?
Your Path of Exile account has been locked because someone logged in from a location that you don't typically play from - "Jiaxing, Zhejiang, China". well be happy they stopped your account from being hacked No they didn't necessarily. My account was locked too after it was hacked, because someone logged in from another location. Had to unlock it to find my stash emptied for orbs. I hope i will be able to disable that security feature in the future. I have to suffer cause people are not able to keep their computers clean and use a strong, unique password -__-. If your stuff was taken its your fault. If you cant keep it safe, you should educate yourself about computer stuff before you waste more time playing a computer game. I keep my computer kinda safe with weekly scans, no downloads from shitty websites, no script etc., and I keep strong unique passwords in everything I do and guess what? Only my PoE password somehow found its way to china.
Same here. I've got two types of antivirus, never downlaoded anything for POE, didn't even visit a community website. Luckily it happened when I was like lvl 30 and had only played a little bit, but still I had a fair amount of orbs. I've never in my life had an account or password hacked, online gaming for 10-12 years now. Anyway, it is a huge problem apparently judging from their official forums, so just be warned that it might be a problem on their end..

I got a warning that someone logged into my account too. Nothing was gone though.

Ok so which do you think is better to farm currency with? Around 220 IIR / 135 IIQ or around 320 IIR / 70 IIQ?
Farming ledge / docks, not maps

I like the idea of maps with random mods etc. but it's kinda weird that you can 'run out' of endgame content (no more maps!). I guess you can group, but it would be nice to solo...
My lev. 66 bowranger has found only three so far, mostly farming docks + fellshrine last 10 levels. I think GGG is in a hard spot in terms of balancing map drops. They're trying to make solo mapping as easy as group mapping, but you can't up map drops to help out solo play without causing group mapping to get flooded with maps. I don't envy their position that's for sure. I don't know if there's any way to separately balance the two and up the map drop chance if you're solo, then leave it where it is now if you're grouping.
why wouldn't there be? just up the drop rate for doing it solo...

Man this game is really fun especially running maps but getting mass desync in the dungeon boss room filled with champion frost casters and brutus just makes this game unbearable to play. Even throughout the map just being mass desync'd and dying to random shit ruins gameplay.

Farming docks for currency isn't efficient if you're a high level (there is a penalty for every level you're above the zone minus two levels). Assuming you're level 75 (which is pretty low) then you're going to have a 2.5*[75-(62+2)]=27.5% penalty to currency drops. This penalty doesn't apply to maps so you could consider doing level 66 maps instead.
As for IIQ versus IIR. I want to say currency drops are only affected by IIQ so the latter option would be better, but I can't find any source for this information so ^_^

Well here's my probably-mediocre skill tree atm. Adapted it from some random one I found on the forums starting out (first build that I didn't just ad-lib). What shouldn't I have in favor of berserking/unwavering stance?

I hate the fact that you have to regret 2x as much when you want to respec in the middle of your tree. You have to take out passives from the outer tree so you dont break your chain, then add them in the middle of your tree in the different pathway you wanted to connect the chain technically twice, then do more regrets to unbreak the original chain of passives then re-add them to your outer tree
Wish you could respec and break chains and if you break your passive chain it would render all of it that doesn't connect to your node. Don't you think that would be much better than spending 2x the amount of orbs (

Mana Flows is on the list of changed passives as well. If you want to go all in on something that is your best bet I guess.
+ Show Spoiler [patch notes section] + Passive Skill Balance Changes: An additional group of mana passives has been added near to the Ranger area. The Duelist starting area has been extensively reworked. Characters who had passives that have been affected by pathing changes have received refunds to their passive skills. The first Duelist damage node now has +12 maximum life. The Mana Flows group has been moved within the Duelist area. Regeneration was increased from +20% to +40%, +10 intelligence was added and the maximum mana granted was reduced from +20% to +16%. Dual-wield-specific damage and attack speed passives have been improved. One handed and two handed Duelist passives have been merged into a general melee track. The Might notable passive has been changed to Master of the Arena (+20 strength, +2 melee range, +8% melee damage). The Agility notable passive has been changed to Acceleration (+20 dexterity, +12% attack speed). Berserking has been moved closer to the Duelist part of the tree. The early Duelist life group has been moved onto the opening path and consolidated into 1% life regeneration, 12% maximum life and 8% maximum life. The Armour Master notable passive has been removed, with its power added to the Leather and Steel nodes. The Duelist Dervish passive has been increased from +8% block rate to +10%. Increased the block on the Shield Mastery passive for the Duelist. Added a new set of mana gained on kill passives near the Duelist area. The Duelist Bow attack speed node has been increased by 2%.
Mana Flows should work since they're moving it and it'll only cost you two regrets. However, it says pathing changes so you may need to go as far as that leather and steel node after the mana flows passive. Since they're moving the mana flows passive your link to leather and steel would be destroyed and you'd need a reset. It's all speculation so I can't really guarantee any of this though. From the wording it sounds like people who want armor mastery and berserking might just be getting screwed.
Stocking up on regrets tonight to sell tomorrow sounds like a good risk right now as well.

Are bowrangers expected to have unwavering stance, blood magic, iron reflexes, and resolute technique, and iron grip then?
Would have to find some fat to trim from my skill tree to match that...
