You should be able to portal or chicken before you die rather easily.

Now I'm aware that it's only a beta, but these I find to be the biggest issues at a glance: 1) No tutorial and incomplete tooltips. The player needs to find out everything for themselves, which isn't trivial with the skill/gem system. 2) Weak atmosphere and story presentation. There's no intro video yet and simple scrolling textboxes with speech don't quite cut it nowadays, so you just kinda stroll through the game not giving a damn. I actually didn't even know (or care) that I was up against the first act boss and only realized that I now was in act 2 when I clicked a waypoint. 3) Enemies need more diversity. The vast majority of the critters are simple melee fighters. The game needs more ranged fighters, casters and enemies with special abilities or interactions to make things more interesting. 4) I find navigation quite difficult. Levels are large and mazelike, and the map isn't really up to the task. A few times, I didn't find the path to continue the journey without looking very very carefully. 5) If you're determined to design a game without a currency, make it in a way that you don't get a good dozen different things for selling items which then take up a quarter of your inventory space.

I am gonna answer these as well as I can according to developer responses: 1) The developers completely agree with you on this! It is something they actually still haven't exactly pinpointed yet, so I think they are open to suggestions. 2) This is not something they are likely to change much! They talked about doing some more footage like what was shown in the intro they put out when the beta started, but that has not yet been further communicated on, other than it is maybe something they will do. 3) Act 1 is the most "boring" act when it comes to monster skill diversity. I think you will like act 3 better in that regard! They have mentioned that they want to shine up act 1 and 2 when they are done with act 3x (there is a large content patch coming up "soon" where some new areas are introduced, just as they expect a new tradesystem soon). A year ago, the game was completely different with very boring monsters (and witches rofl-stomping everyone!), but when I have seen the improvements over time I think the diversity has improved a lot also in act 1 and act 2! 4) The map is something they have promised will be improved. They agree that it is not very good at the moment, but it will take time to fix it. 5) This is an interesting point! I think it is very valid, but it is not something having been said very often. They are aware of the dilemma, but have mentioned adding more items in the future. So far it is probably not gonna change in the near future. Most of the future effects are being suggested as recipes by the vendors to avoid a further escalation in need for stash-tabs! As for currency items you probably ain't seen nothing yet if you only know the currencies from act 1. A wobbing ~27 different value-items exist and many of them can be acquired through "recipes" if you put specific combinations of items up for sale at the same time, so yeah it is a lot and it is something they cannot just expand.

Let me know how that goes for ya haha, I have a 68 ranger as well in HC and I haven't done progression in act 2 at all yet. worried the -60chaos is going to hurt me to much. How did western forest go for you? did you have chaos resist? I want to farm it but concerned about poison arrow

The closest call I had was weaver chamber. A pack of blue flicker strike spiders almost GG'd my fun but I TP'd out when I got scared. Other than that playing safe (max range, using decoy/skele totem) it has all been pretty easy so far.

My level 76 EK temp is running a 5L iron will-faster casting-added fire damage-16% EK-faster projectiles. I also run hatred for the 15% cold damage. i'm doing about 3800tooltip dps per cast, which i can sustain due to the low mana cost. Chain is a 200% multiplier, and as this is applied to more and more supports the mana cost becomes outrageous. you could stack mana regen possibly to compensate but i don't believe the dps would be adequate anyways as fork and chain are highly situational. when i was first leveling i used them both in my gear, switching them out for different situations. in the end, and by glancing at byrr's build, i think a non-fork/chain EK is simply better

And when crafting, does the type of wand matter when you want properties for a caster? I bought an opal wand and I keep getting wander stats on it and its so annoying ;(

IGN: TL_Udgnim Closest I've been to death is in Chamber of Sins I completed The Way Forward quest in Western recently with -60% chaos resist. It was pretty manageable. Throw out Decoy to the edge of my screen. If it doesn't start pulsating, then move up to its location. If it starts pulsating, throw out fire trap & poison arrow then start spamming LA. Did it with ~3.4K HP. Just need to watch for the poison arrow animation when going against the poison archers. I'm going to be looking to start progressing to A3 Merciless soon, so if anyone wants to group up send me a whisper.

And no type of wand doesnt matter, its just that wands can roll caster and physical affixes, which makes it a pain. A good hint it to even pick up blue wands and identify them, cause sometimes they can have like 100% spelldamage etc.

It only goes to level 1 with 1 second cast time. I didn't even know this existed until today haha

Don't try and craft wands unless you have a lot of spare wealth, wands and daggers are just about the most random pieces of gear (they can roll pretty much any stat). Just wait for drops or buy off trade chat.
