And if we can get organized well enough to have two scrim squads, I'd be really impressed. Something like that might get me playing actively again. Burned out on SC2 so now's a good a time as any.

Does anyone recommend where I should buy a digital copy of it??
I can't decide between Steam or GameStop. Or does it even matter? D:

Steam. CS:S is valve's child and steam is essential to it like battle.net to SC.

2. People can comment on what they have issues with/ like and follow the progress

Admin Tiers will likely be as follows (OR similar)

Donator - £5 - Trails, Models, gag, mute, votekick, voteban, slay, mapvote

Admin - £10 - All of above + Kick, Ban up to 1440 minutes (1 day). burn, freeze, timebomb, rocket, speed etc,

High Admin - £20 - All of above + permaban, Godmode, Weapon Spawning, map change

Grabber (adds to other donator status) - £15 - Use of grabber (Allows you to pick up props and players and spawn props)

Flying High Admin - £30 - All of above + Noclip

Head Admin - £40 - All of above + Access to HLSW, root commands, everything. (For security reasons the Owner and original Head Admins will retain backup passwords and have the ability to lock you out)

Co-Owner - £100 (Ok it's a long shot but I may get lucky XD) - All of above + virtual immunity(removed only if you are a real asshole)

There will be no refunds as these are donations. The admin powers are a thank you from the server and not goods you are purchasing. We may remove your powers at any time if we have good reason.

I am sure some of you are concerned about giving players admin powers in return for donations but let me explain my case:

1. Good Servers are not cheap and through donations I can expand to create more servers and therefore please more people

2. I run a tight ship. I have had years of experience in dealing with abusive admins and any damage they do can be undone in minutes.

3. If people are going to pay money for admin they don;t want to get banned. People will be careful with money they put into a game and if they aren't they deserve to lose their money.

4. I'll be Hyper-active. I will be available constantly (School finished) so anyone can get in touch with me and I can sort out any problems immediatly and in the very( very very very) unlikely event I am not on one of my head admins will be.

Thanks again for the support everyone and I may start donations before the server starts at a discount! :D

Not that I want to reign on your parade as a TL server would be awesome in CSS, but just a little constructive criticism.

Firstly this donation structure is pretty absurd.

I've ran CSS servers a few years back when I played semi-competitvely and what your proposing just leads to a tonne of problems and admin abuse by giving people access to the likes of noclip and burn/freeze commands. Yes if someone's caught doing it unfairly, it will be removed but why give it to them in the first place? furthermore charging a (stupidly overpirced) premium for these pointless powers just promotes the use of it.

Perhaps its your intention to run a server along the lines of anything goes but from playing way back in the 1.5 days I know for a fact people just get pissed off and won't come back again.

I'd recommend donations being flat $5 for kick/ban/mute/admin chat powers - This is all you need to run an active public server, map change at a push but this should be pre-defined already. (A CSS server per slot is like $1-$2 depending where you go) so this is more than reasonable. For higher access to FTP RCON files etc keep it to trusted members/friends.

gl hf with it, if its on EU then i'll definately check it out.

If u play css on a competitive level u should know that the only good pub servers are deathmatch servers and thats it i used to be cal-p in css :D so this kinda interests me. but if its nto a deathmatch then i wouldn't play.

I agree with Haggis. But I don't think kick/ban powers should be granted to donators at all. Those really should be given to those who seem rational and play often.

There have been so many decent servers that have been ruined by retarded admins who just kick/ban every person they disagree with.

Then i wouldn't play on it sorry i don't like to sit there have a 30 vs 30 game and just wait for 1 dude to try and clutch a game that doesn't matter lol Death Match is the only way to go , and if ur looking to improve skill it helps also as long as u listen to music and play deathmatch you can be very good in scrims later.

The server will never be that big. With such high numbers of players the game becomes much less personal. At most it will be 16 vs 16 and if we have issues with space we can supply more servers.

The scrims will be 8 vs 8 by the way

8 vs 8 with 2-4 reserved slots for admins, please.
A server with more than 8 slots per team becomes a huge mess. :p

Cal-p never existed bro, and this isn't a server for training its just for fun.

This is relevant to my interests. While I was never very good at CS metagame, I love playing shooters and have been craving some gunplay lately.

Updating CS:S now...
