Probably just that he's new and no one knows what he does, but damn he seems awesome. I went something like 2-3 hours without a loss today, got into the 3 digit ranks :D

I was mostly sticking to Ken for the past two days so I could focus on basics and the new engine instead of learning characters from total scratch, but of all the characters I played against the good Rashids made him seem like he could be one of the most fun characters by far. Should really spend some more time with him. Hope to see more from him at a high level.

I'll probably play Ryu tomorrow now that he's back in, to stick with basics for now as mentioned. But I really love losing to players that are doing sick stuff already. BUNCH of the characters look like a lot of fun.

Rashid is super fun. high mobility, decent pokes, good crossup, amazing super and v trigger. He has multiple angles to jump off the wall even! His super hitting all the way to the top of the screen is just such a delight. Most people try to jump directly above you on wakeup to avoid DPs, but that puts you right in the target for a full rashid super.

and no one ever techs his fireball xx roll > throw. thats some day one shit but its never not worked for me lol

SFV beta tip: if you want training mode without getting interrupted by matches, play with the dummy record action on. So choose the character you want to play as player 2, go to record mode and play away. You just have to reset it after every 100 seconds, and the dummy options don't work (blocking etc.), but it's still good for combo practice.

man SFV is so insane. I'm having fun but I feel more like I'm playing the next game after SF Alpha3/3rd Strike and less the game after USFIV.

It's like the series went sf2, sf alpha series, 3rd strike, sfv with SF4 being some random off shoot.

the game play is very fast, the mix-ups and damage are out of this world and the cross-ups no most characters seem down right broken. It's quite difficult to get used to the neutral/footie game after playing so much SF4 lately.

This guy over at kappa has compiled a easy to use package of the SFV beta for those who want to try it or maybe grind training mode.

It has all the characters included in the beta and training mode, that's it.
