Amazing tournament and the first one in a while where I caught pretty much all of it. So glad I didn't have obligations this weekend.

Thanks man, still got work to do but this is a decent start ![]() I play Mature/Leona/Yuri usually, but for most of my matches this tourney I ran Kensou point. Most of my wins were with Leona HDs set up off conditioning them to block empty hop low on wakeup, then deep j.C into s,D confirm. Mature did most of the heavy lifting, and Kensou usually left me with 2-3 bars. Its a decent team imo Pepeday hugged me when he came outside for a cigarette after winning, he is so amazed to have qualified for master's series this january. Another paid trip to a high profile tourney! Amazing story. He was cheering for me in pools too xD I might write up a blog or something after I'm settled back at home, but for now.... CCG afterparty, baby! P.S. sakura doesnt really have a punish for blanka balls ![]()

Also, you only get a juggle hit which does puny awful damage, less than the chip damage from the ball =( I thought dash lp shouo fadc crouch fierce light tatsu stand fierce hp shouo is a legit punish. Guess not ;;

His popularity skyrocketed out of nowhere but he's so humble and appreciative of the support and really plays for the fans who support him. His emotions after winner's finals alone showed that. So cool. People still have this harbored hatred for Fuerte as a character but the way Pepe plays him is astonishing and terrifying. The craziness of his character quickly thrust him into the spotlight but his likability and devotion to perform for the fans will keep him there. All the salty tweets about Fuerte from players like Fchamp, Ricky, and such are icing on the cake.

The problem with Fuerte is the same problem I have with Viper, where I'm guessing more than I'm reacting. His command jumps are not antiairable, and his Fajita Buster looks exactly the same as his Tostada Press so it's not clear whether you should be focusing or jumping. If you try to preemptively focus, he can cancel the run into a free Qbomb which is probably going to counterhit. Also, I thought you were switching to Chun or E.Ryu??

Long story short, I was looking at the roster instead of at myself to address the plateau I felt I hit. Eventually I saw my weaknesses for what they were, and about two months before CC I dropped everyone and went back to Sakura. That's my character man, ride or die. It worked out for the better, even though there was clear mistakes made in all of my sets, I stayed composed and focused all weekend. That's the best I've ever played, but it just feels like I've set a new standard for myself. You learn so much more from tournaments when you are dialed in, and when you're disciplined enough not to make bad decisions in the heat of the moment, when you're under pressure. Getting back into being real with myself and my character is what brought me the lil bit of success I had this weekend, so yeah, I main Sakura. Ride or die.

When Ultra came out I spent all my time playing Chun and Decapre. I thought Sakura would be too weak after the changes. About 2 months before Canada Cup I wasn't satisfied with my results in locals with Decapre. I had been placing 7th-2nd every week and never winning. I played Sakura at the next local just out of fondness, destroyed everyone, and kinda just got over my hangup. For a while I was just looking for an easier path... Chun and Evil Ryu are both really strong. At the end of the day it was a lot of worrying for nothing. She's still good, and I feel way more comfortable playing her. To the point where I pick her into Gief in tournament even though I have Chun ready. Long story short, I was looking at the roster instead of at myself to address the plateau I felt I hit.
