Go get Baldurs Gate with expansion asap ! (Don't really know if it counts as turn based.) And this game isn't dnd but it's a great rpg, actually it's one of my alltime favorites: Chrono Trigger, get a snes emulator + chrono trigger and go play.

BTW, does anyone know where I can get a Playstation Emulator? My PS1 broke and I haven't been able to play Final Fantasy Tactics ![]()

Not all RPG games on console are linear, and linear RPGs arent neccesarily bad anyway. thats just one aspect of an rpg though, the trade-off is that pc games are far deeper and have more freedom.

U got all the baldur's gate engine style games. For PC u wont find a lot of FF style games. BUT IF U WANT THE REAL STRATEGY GAME, GET UFO: ENEMY UNKNOWN. I think in some countries it was commercialized by the name of X-Com. Thats the real game man. Proly one of the most addictive games ever.

might and magic 3 ("heroes of..." is a turn-based strategy game loosely based on the might and magic universe; this is the original dungeon-crawl style crpg) ravenloft 1, 2 menzoberranzan (mostly recommended for fans of the books) more recent turn-based rpgs knights of the old republic fallout 1, 2 planescape: torment (notable for its characterizations and plot) temple of elemental evil (straight-up d&d combat, no fancy story or anything) neverwinter nights (built-in campaign is mediocre, but lots of fan-made content available) not turn-based but still awesome daggerfall/morrowind tactical turn-based games (if you love turn-based combat) jagged alliance 1 x-com series
