Here is an exact run through of problem: launch. freezes, black screen. i cntrl alt del to task manager. Exit that. The game then loads. I chose to play on demethos and then it dcs and says that I have been disconnected from the server. I have tried running it through steam and straight from the site. i had those problems when i ran it, but to remedy, you need to run it using the game launcher. i have windows 7 64-bit if you are wondering. also sometimes you'll get a few error codes, just relaunch the game and it should run smoothly. make sure you update your PC from automatic updates, as there are redist packages that your system needs to run before being able to use applications that require internet access successfully. as for the black screen, its because maple is loading the intro movies. sometimes when clicking during black screen, it says that it is not responding, when its actually loading the intro movie, so just wait. try removing those and it should load much smoother. theoretically you dont need compatability mode for maplestory, but it does need administrator access, so you need to enable that. there appears to be a problem with steam with windows 7 when it runs maplestory, so try running it through game launcher, because it does not need to load any additional interfaces before loading maple. | ||

Talk to the mayor and do the short questline. Then go to map 6 of aliens, they give 3k exp, nothing comes close at this level, they are the jesters for your level. | ||
