Meireles is pretty good. I know a lot of Liverpool fans are happy with that signing and they got him for like 10 mill which is really cheap for someone like him imo.
Lucas is supposedly unsettled and also wants to leave and he's nowhere near the level of Mascherano and trying to replace Mashcerano with someone like Lucas is a joke atm.
Poulsen is also a brand new signing, doesn't look very special atm and he's 30.
So when you look at it they sold a top DMF and replaced him with another top DMF, Meireles.

I actually consider Mascherano world class in his position.

Since Makelele's dominance at RM everybody wants to find something like him. Failing hard in the process btw.

Who scored today for Arsenal?
I see they won 2-1 to Blackburn

nevermind it was Walcott 20, Arshavin 51

Ibrahimovic joined Milan today.

Not confirmed yet, still in conversations at the moment.

I really wanted him to stay, but too much has been said, and it all points to the transfer happening .
good bye Zlatan

German media says, Ibrahimovic joined AC Milan for 24 (!!!!!!!) million € !!!!!!
WTF !!! Barca are you crazy ??? Etoo' + 40 million. € last year and now you sell him for 24 mil. € ???? That's even more retarded than Juventus who bought Diego for 25 mil. € last year and sold him for 15 mio. € this year ... !!!!!
edit: Goal.com reports, that uncle Fester aka Galliani brought Barca's price tag of 70 mil. € to 24 mil. €. *rofl* what's going on here ? did he bribed Barca with some wh*** ? we will never know !

New Barça board says the financial situation is really bad. Selling Zlatan they avoid paying his huge salary. Then you ask me "why signing him in the first place?". Well, looks like the previous board thought spending 70m€ on a player and paying him 12m€ wasn't a big deal, but the new one thinks it is. But the main point they had to sell him is that Guardiola has something against him. He sold Eto'o because he was a ticking bomb and bought another one, everybody saw it coming but him.
Ps: Barça signed Chigrinskyi 25 and Zlatan 40 + Eto'o, and sold Chigrinskyi 15 and Zlatan 25 in a year =\
|
But that's not the problem. If they have troubling financial issues, then why would you sell Ibrahimovic for a price of 24 mil. € ? This is weak negotiation skills. Besides, they just bought Villa for 40 mil. € !!!! Why didn't they just swapped Ibrahimovic for Villa in the first place (Valencia would definately would not deny this swap, if barca still pays a portion of Ibrahimovics salary) ? I just don't get Barcelona, either the media is reporting false numbers or Barca is just really dumb...
|
I guess they were just that desperate to dump his salary. I can't believe they didn't try to get more for him though, surely some team would be willing to pay more than 24 mil.
|
Valencia wouldn't take the swap for Ibra because Valencia is in debt. They also sold of David Silva btw to Man City. They want the money. You also have to take into account the fact that Ibra won't play for Valencia and he probably won't play for any team that isn't an actual title contender. Let's be honest Valencia will not win La Liga in it's current state.
I'm sure Milan and Barca are building some kind of relationship but even if they weren't which club would pay that much money for Ibra?
The PL? Only Chelsea and Man City can probably afford him and neither wants him. La Liga? His only choice is R Madrid and Mourinho is probably laughing his ass off from the Eto'o trade still. Bundesliga? They have really good spending policies and won't splash for someone like Ibra I believe.
So other than making some kind of deal with Milan I don't see where he would go to.

Maybe they ripped a whole bunch (~400,000?) of people off for Ibrahimovich shirts???? It might have happened

Villa signing was a movement of the former board, wich claimed the economy was fine. As the new board took over, they audited the club and found out the truth. They even had to order a 75m€ credit to pay players salaries during summer and afford the new signings.
