Although, I wonder what they'll be like next year anyway if Charlie Adam gets bought by a bigger club.

I think it was a poor decision considering that everyone thought he was a decent manager with the capability of bringing Chelsea trophies. In fact, nobody outside of the Chelsea administration thought that it would be wise to fire Ancelotti after this season, but I guess Abramovich's demands were too high once again.

Yes, but the decision was made by the Chelsea organization, and as such, Abramovich would have had to have at least approved the decision. Since he has the ultimate say over what happens at the club, we know that he at least did not stop Carlo from being sacked. I also think the abrupt nature of the departure (right after the last game of the season) means that they already have a replacement lined up in mind.

Sgany: Birmingham get a place for winning the Carling Cup and Blackpool get one based on the Fair Play league.

I thought that England got the spot because our teams were fair in European competitions; it makes absolutely no sense to give it to a random team across Europe! The standard of refereeing is totally different for a start and then surely you would give the place to the best team not just because they don't get cards.
