All that changes is the monsters are tougher, and without good equipment, the two or more of you may not be actually killing things faster than you would single player. So I plan on soloing at least until I unlock a good chunk of the skills I plan on using endgame. Monsters yield more experience with more people I'm pretty sure. I've not played with more than 1 friend but all the times I played with friends I leveled faster. | ||

They do not. All you saw was increased killing speed since each person added increases monster HP by 75% instead of 100%. So with 4 people it'd be 400% max theoretical damage from each player vs 325% monster HP. But of course that's all characters working together all the time. One person splits up and it drop to 300% vs 325% and the advantage is gone. http://www.diablowiki.net/Multiplayer#Cooperative_Play | ||

Actually, with everything else being equal, it should be faster in a group. 2 players should technically have double the dps of 1 player, and the monsters have only gained 75% health. Edit: Whoops, little late on this comment. | ||

Seriously though, I have numerous friends/classmates whom are also getting D3 at day 1 just like me, and of course we plan on playing together... but I'm not so sure that it's optimal on doing so right away. For one, you can't be more than 4 people per party now, and we're more than that, so we can't just make one party and play through everything together. Regardless, given school is still on, there's no way we'd all be synched progress-wise for very long, making a playthrough together either very hickupy, or some of us would have to skip certain sections. Now, I do not really think the story is the most important part of Diablo, but I'm still interested in and would like to experience to its full extent at least the first time. Thus, I think I will play through solo the first time, at least up 'til Nightmare, partially to get a more advanced feel for the changes from D2 in my own pace, and partially for the sake of the story. (Playing with pubs I'm not even considering for some time, given my experience with them in the beta lol) So how are you guys planning on playing it the first time? Solo/Co-op/Pubs etc? Are you gonna play for fun, try out HC right away, or just rush to 60 and ignore everything else? Me and 6-7 other friends are planning a lan party the weekend after D3 release where we will play the game through together/solo, have fun and enjoy co-op. Sad you can only be 4 in one game compared to 8 in D2 --_-- but really just enjoy it after such a long wait time. ![]() | ||

I really love how it plays, but from what I saw in the beta, you never use your weapons. Its like you run around with them in your hands but as soon as you enter combat they disappear and you're just punching things. Since they removed the need for basic auto attacking by giving us resource free left click skills, I fear like the monk will never use their weapon. It just makes no sense to see them walk through a dungeon with a polearm at the ready but have it jump to your back as soon as you start fighting. If you could have a staff/polearm on your back at all times giving you stats or whatever, it wouldnt be so bad. But the fact that its only on your back while IN COMBAT is driving me nuts. | ||

While this bothers me too, I don't think it'll be a problem for long. Class specific weapons give you bonuses to your primary stat, +max resources and resource regeneration and probably skill bonuses too. I doubt you'll see many wizards and monks carrying swords and polearms past normal (probably past act 2 or 3). | ||

---- I'm having a hard time recalling the first epic quest in diablo 3. (yes, i know, skeleton king... but thats like an act boss...) I remember den of evil from diablo 2 even though it has been a very long time. this brings to mind... if diablo 3 quests are a bit convoluted... just a simple quest like the den of evil made it a strong image to recall because of how simple it was... diablo 3 however, quests are so fluid, it loses a bit of identity... for lack of better wording. so im hoping diablo 3 hasn't forgotten that sometimes simple works... | ||

Especially during boss fights, would you want to just sit there (like in WoW) and go pew... pew... pew... or do you want to be somewhat encouraged to actually put effort into it? Considering how much I love Sc, I am all for this. Although, I was using stutter attack in the game long ago near the beginning of the beta while using the Wd and darts. But, that is because I have been playing a lot of dota 2 and it transferred over. | ||

This style of Animation Cancelling is pretty natural for good DotA players and im personally happy that a more involved and active playstyle gets rewarded. :D | ||

They've all ready said that it is a bug that they intend to patch (slower shooting if you hold the mouse down). I'm glad they are fixing it. I play Diablo to relax and have fun, with more strategic depth as RPG's allow for. This twitchy-ness is good for some FPS and RTS, but keep it away from my RPG's thanks. :p | ||

That said, I didn't imagine stutter step in Diablo...that's so great if they keep it that way, skill should be rewarded! | ||

Basically it shouldn't really detract from casual play if this is in the game, but add that extra bit of control for trying to speed through the game for world firsts and whatnot. | ||
