well it's beta and part of testing should be if this is crackable or not. So now is the time to crack it so Blizzard knows how safe the game is gonna be once it's live.
so by hackers going at it Blizzard can make the game safer before release which is what I mean by hackers push the boundaries.

After watching some streams I must say that it looks pretty boring.

I have and played both.

and how is D1 and D2 not boring then? its basically the same game, just with different skills and monsters

They are quite boring, but the mood is very good.

I'm not worried about the D3 community as I don't plan to play it 'competitively' (don't know if you can even use this word for D3). One of the benefits of the restricted player number per game is that you can choose the people you want to play with. You are not forced to meet annoying players all the time like for example in WoW. Of course this changes when you decide to go for high end play where you would want to have the best possible gear or some insane speedruns. Anyway, when I think back to D2 times, I had the most fun by playing it with one or two good friends only in Hardcore mode. Even without reading stuff about optimized tech trees or guides. Oh the fear..., it was awesome! Will do that again with D3

Not really news or anything, but you can see the "game" being cracked(actually it is already finished i t seems) on -Mod Edited out-. There is pictures up and all that, and i have no difficulty believing its true.
"You guys are more likely to see hacks/bots sooner than you will an emulated server. Just like in SC2, the hacks came first and then about a year later, an emulator."
e. I might been wrong with the term "finished" here. But well, there is people cracking the beta already.
Mod Edit: Please don't post links to hack sites, thanks

Well the crackers managed to start a game and have a character in an empty world. The game is missing skills, enemies, NPC...because all that is on the server side. Now it's just a matter if they can emulate a server.

Thanks for clearing that out! 8)

I'm not sure if this discussion is allowed in-depth, but... while they have managed to create a game, it crashes shortly after. The longest the game stayed up was for 2 minutes. Great progress? Yes, but hardly "done".

Hahaha. Seriously though, I don't know how D3 could become an eSport. Why would you watch the arena matches when you could just watch DotA 2 instead?

And it wont. Even Blizzard has stated that they have no interest. And you are right, i played WoW but never understood why Arena should be an e-sport. Rather watch something else, Dota, HoN etc..

That's like saying SC2 can't be an esport because no one would watch streams of the single player campaign.
