Before I got in the game at around mid 2003, I heard that we started off at Level 3. There was never a point in time where our marvel was at default damage. That must've sucked

#2 team had 3 west coast players #3 team was primarily led by pr rog Ryry and Marn, the latter of which is west coast. #4 team has floe, west coast. West coast has marvel. | ||

what? i've been enjoying chun li, ammy, wesker, deadpool, storm phoenix (dies fast though), zero, and dante. Iron man's assist is useful. I hear Sentinel is really good, and his laser is definitely great, but he feels too slow sometimes. Any tips from you proz/experienced players as to how to be good at this game? | ||

Any tips from you proz/experienced players as to how to be good at this game? I would say Marvel is a very fun game to pick up and screw around but one of the hardest to get into seriously. If you just want to be able to beat your friends and maybe some online matches reading the Marvel guide over at Shoryuken.com is a great start even thou it not a short read. Go to mission mode and try to get every character to at least Level 7 that way you will now what too look out for and have a general idea of what characters suit your style. Also remember that picking 3 characters just because you like them is a really bad way of picking proper teams. Look at what the pro's are using. Decide who do you want as your point (first character) and see what teams people are picking with him and more importantly, why. Practice your bread and butter combos and practice calling your assists during combos to increase the damage, this is character specific so you need to know what works with who first. This is how I went around learning this game without having any previous Marvel experience and although I am not a tournament player I am pretty confident in the understanding I have of the game even thou I'm still figuring out some stuff (like everyone else) I think I have a nice base to work with. Oh, also check out Gootecks and Mike Ross Marvelous Adventures on Youtube. The show centers around Gootecks, a scrub at Marvel, playing online matches while Mike Ross coaches him, Mike being a current top Marvel player. It's funny and informative and really connected with me as a fellow scrub. And for the love of god DON"T USE SIMPLE CONTROLS. | ||
