Really.. I was a couple hundred of GP away from gold battle axe.

Hey folks,

Since I'm new to this board and I haven't followed IRC chats on GBC server, I wonder what info there is available on wth is going on? I see DarKo's post about the host disabling the server.. does it mean the end... or is it comin up on a different host?

I haven't played GB for about 4 years.. so I saw the GBC somewhere and decided playing again.. been playing for 2 days and the server got disabled.. how lame is that, I just started enjoying it again!

Will you guys keep this topic updated bout whats going on with the server?

From their server host

Hello,

We can not restore your VPS access without reinstall as this violates our TOS. We will need to completely reinstall your VPS. You will not get the data present on your VPS. Once the VPS is re-installed all the data on your old VPS will be wiped off. You will have to re-upload your data. Please confirm whether we can go ahead and rebuild your VPS.

I figured as much. Good thing we have everything from a week ago.

Don't expect it to be back today. There is a chance, but don't expect anything. We need to look into a new provider and then set everything up again! We will try to think of a good way to compensate users, this shit happens too much but you guys still hang in there, thanks!

This means that the server will be back, it's just a matter of time. Another thing is that they only have data saved from about 1 week ago, that means everything you did this week will be gone. For me that means about 4-5k gp atleast, but that doesn't really matter as long as we get the server going again.

I played this game four years ago and played it for over a year.. used to be boomer pro and was a blue wand, although I preferred the tank last days... would be nice to know some folks ingame to have some fun with... if you could, answer the questions above please xD
