This is definitely not true. I'm not even in the same "tier" as top TL players. I do my best, and I tend to stay calm and social, but I'm not one of the better players here.

Southlight and Mogwai are both just under 55% win ratio. I'm currently 91-85, or 51.7%. So, as I said, not one of the better TL players. Not a complete incompetent, however.
My last win was an epic TL 3 man. Here's a screenshot:
http://giver.homedns.org/epicgame.png
Things to note:
1) I lost the mid tower (I still can't play Siv vs. Heim correctly, apparently) early on. In fact, I had a pretty awful game in general. 2) Yes, the chat is correct. I sold mallet/zerk boots for IE and Madred's. I then teleported in and BDed a turret and an inhib. 3) Our Teemo was AP Teemo for over an hour. He then sold all his items and bought DPS Teemo items. 4) Our opponents got two barons in a row, and had two of our inhibs down with our nexus at half life. Then, while TF and I BDed separate turrets/inhibs (see above), our three allies somehow held off their five man push, which was the turning point (I credit Teemo switching to DPS). 5) We got baron one last time before the final push. He took around ten seconds.
Of course, the screenshot has tons of crazy info, too, including the game time and items. Overall, a truly epic (bad?) game.

Lol, even despite my recent awful streak I'm at a 55% winrate. Over 100 games and 54.5% with Mundo. I attribute it to not solo queuing in a month. (I've only played just over 200 games, though. Not high ELO or anything.)

I guess that claim was off then. Forgot about Brees and then Atombomb just started posting again so that's another two to add.

TF finally shows up in my most played. 20-6, all post-fix :p and I think I can attribute 3 of those losses to when I was first learning him and still trying to build AP or AP/AS hybrid. It's weird, my K/D/A with him isn't very good (176/158/211), but that's just under 80% W:L. Either I'm doing something other than Kill and Assist and Not-Die well, or I'm getting incredibly lucky with MM and the sample size is too small.

I'm really hoping Riot makes it possible to release your game information some day. I'd love to get game info from a bunch of people and do some regressing/modeling. KDA should obviously have a relationship with win %, but I bet there's other stuff, too. For example, I suspect having a lot of damage taken per death is important -- if you die 8 times, but you're the tank, and you've taken vast quantities of damage, you may have won your team 5 teamfights (while a lesser player would have died 12 teams and lost 2 or 3 more of them). I'd also be curious about:
-Damage done to structures (not kills, damage done) -Gold/XP/stacks gotten for kills vs. given by deaths -Ratio of damage dealt that resulted in kills (are you unloading nukes on someone who then flashes out, or are you actually contributing?) -Money spent on wards (this seems simplistic, but it's pretty clear bad players don't buy wards, and good players do -- I bet there's a weak ELO relationship) -Percentage of time spent attacking/being attacked (good players are always doing something, even if it's jungle creeps. Bad players stand around) -Intra-team measures (if your numbers for a game are all really good, but still fourth place on your team, maybe it wasn't your doing)
In other news, the new TF is still really really good. Your ratio with him won't last (I don't think even top 10 players will have ratios that consistently high, based on what I know of ELO and rating systems) but it's not surprising it's above your overall ratio.

I'll be at PAX this weekend -- I'll try to find Riot's booth (along with Firaxis and, of course, Blizzard).

I know it won't last, as that's the nature of an ELO system. So long as you're not just better than everyone else (and I'm certainly not), you should rise to a level where you start to go close to 50:50.
One stat I'd be interested in is damage dealt to turrets. I average close to 2 turrets destroyed/game with the new TF, but tbh, I think I do proportionally way more than that stat suggests in the way of pushing and I think that's the main reason I've been doing well with him (his tower killing speed + his ult establish insane map control, it's sorta what he does best).
EDIT: have fun at PAX

Yeah I got steamrolled by a 5-man premade yesterday running Sivir Ezreal / TF / Heimer Mord
Ridiculous pushing power :|

Erh... to lazy to calculate winning percentages but 116 wins and 96 loss for me with most played champions being Corki / Rammus oh and my summoner name is Musoi, contact me for a game :D

156/147
Best champ being Annie 49/33 & Nasus 42/33

It's a miracle you guys are getting good games while still leveling up. Took me many games at level 30 to finally get some decent teammates / opponents. Maybe that's the difference between US and EU servers?
My score is currently 268-217, so basically a little over 55% winning percentage. With my three most played characters my winning percentage is way higher though, so I'm not sure what the value is in these overall stats.

54.7% -- a member of the "just below 55%" club.

Now, now -- that's 54.9%. Still a member of that "just below 55%" club -- although only one win away from 55%, technically.
Edit: to quickly check how many wins you need to hit 55% winrate, just multiply your losses by 11 then divide by 9. Subtract your current win total for how many you need to win in a row to break 55%.

mine is 380/297, so +83 atm
I was basically at 50/50 for a while like all you guys, and then you just find the champs you click with and start to dominate and have a serious impact on games if you understand your character's role and what they are capable of. These for me were shaco, nasus, gangplank, and nidalee a bit. Learning tristana atm.
(this is on my account inept, not my smurf brees)

Ridiculous pushing power :| tbh, I have been liking TF solo mid less and less. I think he's good vs. Sivir and serviceable vs Twitch and Corki, but Ashe and Trist and Nidalee have been utterly destroying me recently. Casters are a bit of a tossup and I don't see many solo-mid casters these days, but I have had trouble with Annie once she hits 6 a couple times. It's just so hard to deal with a serviceable player with a champion with better range as DPS TF since you can't really do anything all that threatening by yourself in the early game.
|
I'm pretty sure this TF was just a godly TF player as a whole, as he went something like 12-0-X against us before he started fucking around and almost threw the game away. He played it like Twitch - just stay back, bide time, and boom gank. And then he just snowballed REALLY fast.
Edit: Anyways, the main problem was, Mord + Heimer pushes a lane really fast because Mord lays out all the creep, and Heimer's turrets support a tower tank-down extremely well. And at the top, you have Sivir and Ezreal, which gives very good lane control and very fast pushing power.
So when TF hit level 6, he waited, waited, and as soon as one lane looked "weak" he teleported in, ganked, and then pushed the tower. They basically took down a tower every 30 seconds. We literally pretty much lost all our towers in a span of ~4 minutes. And of course because every single hero on their team was capable of solo pushing lanes, and was difficult to kill, it was nightmarish. We had no map control and almost no initiative.
|
yea, I probably just need to fix my approach to going solo mid with him. I'm most likely just too aggressive, which tends to be a trend among all the issues I'm aware of in my play (across all games too actually...).
